部屋に有線のインターネットサービスしかなかったのが、今の時代では遅すぎると感じました。チェックアウト後に、荷物を預かって欲しいとの希望は頑なに断られました。立地は最高です。

京都市役所前駅近くとして、立地条件はよいが、ホテルの名前のイメージや案内より期待はずれで残念でした。ホテルのグレードを考えてもレストラン・部屋の広さ・サービスが期待外れでした。

京都の街歩きには便利の良い場所にあり、とても快適に観光や用事をこなすことができました。 １階ロビーのソファー付近で携帯電話がつながりにくかったのが、不便でした。

だいたいのホテルは、外出時はフロントに預けるようになっていますが、貴ホテルは持ち出しOKとのことでした。 それでも紛失してしまうのを避けるために、フロントに預けて外出したのですが…。 ホテルに戻ってフロントに声をかけると預かっていませんの一言。挙句、持ち出したのではないかと言われました。朝、私は「研修生」と書かれた札をつけている方に預けました。ホテルに戻ってから対応してくれたのも同じ型です。 いったいどうなっているのでしょう？ その日はキーを再発行してもらい、翌日にがそのキーをフロントに預けて外出。ホテルに戻って声をかけると二つ預かっています、と最初に預けたキーも一緒に出てきました。前日の経緯をフロントの方に話すと、そうですか、の一言のみ。事実確認もなしでした。 研修生にはどういう指導を […] していらっしゃるのでしょうか？また、管理はどうなっているのでしょう？ 前日の預けたキーは、まともに探していなかったということでしょうか？ こんな管理の悪いホテルでは、信用を失ってしまいますよ？ キーの紛失疑惑の時に、その研修生からはホテル側に報告はあったのでしょうか？ その後の対応についても全く報告もなく、結局最後まで不信感はぬぐえませんでした。 翌日からは、一人ではなく夫に同席してもらい必ず「預けた」という証言をもらえる状況でしかフロントに預けられなくなりました。 荷物は部屋に置いていましたが、貴重品は持ち出し、貴重品でなくても帰室後には必ず持参品の有無をチェックしていたくらいです。 そんな管理しかできていないようなホテルには二度と宿泊しようとは思いません。 無料の宿泊ではないのだから、管理くらいきちんとしてください。 もっと読む

市内にあるのでアクセスも良いしいろんなお店が近くにあるのも良いです 部屋もとても快適でした 内側の部屋だったので景色は特にコメントないですが外側の部屋だったら京都市内を見渡せたのではないでしょうか

ホテルの備品に不具合があり、フロントに伝えると早急の新品と交換していただき、迅速対応には感謝しております。 アメニティも備わっていたのは良かったのですが、体格の良い主人には浴衣は小さすぎ、できればサイズの選べるのがほしかったですね。 内側の部屋だったので、向かいの部屋が丸見え。カーテンを開けるわけにもいかず。　　　料金が格安なので仕方ありませんよね。 ホテル付近には祇園、河原町に歩いて行けて　楽しい旅でした。また利用したいと思っております。 お世話さまでした。

他のハイクラスより価格がリーズナブルで、過ごしやすいホテルでした。 周辺機器の観光地への拠点に最適です。 冷蔵庫には余計なものは何もなく、近くのコンビニで全て揃えることが可能です。 部屋も綺麗で、常宿にしたいと感じました。

ナント！京都にこんなホテルがあったなんて。 しかも四つ星です。 市役所からも程近い、京都市内のほぼ中央部に位置するこのホテル、建てられたのは70年代だそうですが、中はきちんとリノベートしてあって、極めて現代的な印象でした。但し、段階的にリノベーションを行っているらしく、フロアによっては古い内装の部屋もまだ多く存在しているようです。 ホテルマンの方々も礼儀正しくとても親切。 施設も充実しています。 短期の滞在だったので、利用するチャンスは無かったのですが、山野愛子さん監修のスパが売りのようです。 とにかく一度泊まってみては... コストパフォーマンスも良いので、絶対損はしませんよ！

観光スポットにも行きやすく、ショッピングもすぐにでかけられラクラクで便利でした。 呑みに行くにもとても便利で満足でした。 ホテルのバーの７時までの割引もいいですね！

This hotel is conviniently located to a lot of the tourist attractions in Kyoto + it is near a subway station. The room was of average size and pretty comfortable.

On the whole a quite pleasant hotel but the one complaint I had was the hardness of the bed(matress) after a hard days sight seeing it was not a comfortable sleep. It was very convenient to walking around central Kyoto and the bus and underground.

Very nice hotel, clean and modern. Great breakfastbuffé. Good location sice itś close to shopping, sightseeing and also subwaystation. There is busstops just outside the hotel that takes you to all the famous places i Kyoto. Would definitely stay here again.

Affordable, well located and clean. Don't miss dining out in the street behind the hotel with the small river: great places there!

Good location for shops, retaurants etc. Staff very helpful, room a bit on the small side.

Very nice and Cosy. First time in Kyoto. Very nicely located, easy access to shopping and dining. Reception staff very helpful in assistance; arranged taxi to send our son Randall Chew to Japan Baptist Hospital as he was very sick on Tuesday, 21st February. Staff are very helpful. Hotel is convenient for sight seeing either by public transportation or on foot.

Very nice hotel and good service

The hotel is located along the most central street of Kyoto and is easily accessed by buses and subway.

Great location, After 50 m you can walk on the pavement with roofs on your head along shops and department stores. About 100m at the back, near the canal begin the Pontocho street , large 2 meters full of restaurants and sometimes of geishas. Less 1km the nightlife of Gion. The Subway 50 m. Around this hotel you see food and restaurants everywhere. […] The Hotel all good , reception, 4 lifts, Large bed and we can turn around. Sheets thick blankets 4 pillows ok . For a 4 stars the rooms are not so big but in Japan ! Tea/coffee makers. Internet in the room with lan cable fast. Bathroom ok not too small with all . Only one problem : for heater/AC only one button for off/L/M/H and the Low gave us too hot, we let the windows open all the night under zero , and the temperature was ok. Absolutely great hotel in a fabulous location, near to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki Market and many temples. Beautiful interior, large rooms, the staff was very helpful and courteous. I would certainly stay here again. My family got a great rate through hotels.com.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for five nights and had a great time in Kyoto. It's a great location, close to shops and places to eat. The only problem we had was that the room would get very hot at night and we didn't have control over our air temperature from the room.

very good location for travelers

We stayed here for 5 nights and wished we could stay longer. Kyoto was lovely and the hotel is conveniently located close to many sights and public transport. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable! Definitely recommend to everyone, especially if you can get discount rate as the full rate is pretty high!

Stayed here early December. Very comfortable hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, Very good location close to Gion, Ponto Cho and the undercover shopping streets around Terramachi and the food markets. Several restaurants nearby as well as a convenience store and a bakery. We were able to walk to Higashiyama to visit temples and view the late Autumn colours. […] Subway station also nearby. No views from room because surrounded by high buildings. Our room was a double and although small everything we needed was supplied and the quality of furniture, bedding and toiletries was very good. We stayed in this hotel for five days. Rooms are very celan, service is excellent. Employees are very nice people, always available to help. Location is excellent. I will stay again in this hotel without doubts

It is the staff that provides the service that makes the difference. The staff was English speaking, very friedly and helpful. That's why we were consulting the Reception staff for directions/suggestions everyday. On the last day, when we contacted the concerage lady (on 10 /12/2011), for gettingour left luggage and assistance for taxi, she was very […] good in getting the luggage and then ran across to the street to get a taxi for us. The Royal is an ideally based hotel near the city hall subway station in Kyoto. A short walk from restaurant streets, Gion district, shopping area and the temple area. Maybe not the best location for temple hopping, but great for a relaxing and convenient visit to Kyoto. walking distance to a great restaurant selection as well as Gion (a good 30min walk, but still a walk). This hotel is located in the heart of the town. It is very well connected to all the attractions by subway and bus lines. The rooms are a bit small and feels very crowded. But that must be the case in many Japanese hotels as I have heard. It will be nice to have the breakfast included in the cost of the hotel room. The room was very small and had no view except the courtyard. Our suitcases just fitted next to the bed and the bathroom was very small and basic too. The hotel needs a renovation, the hallways smell of smoke. Service and breakfast are ok. Overall we were disappointed by this hotel and would not recommend it. Whilst the staff appeared to speak minimal English, or at least seemed content with my minimal Japanese, everyone was extraordinarily obliging. It was our first part of the trip to Japan. The room was clean and had a king bed. The staff helpful and very nice, you could buy the daily bus pass there, which made it easy to travel around. The location is good, at the end of a shopping and restaurant street, very convenient.

This hotel is very well located. The staff were friendly and efficient. Air conditioning was quiet and rooms were restful - well recieved when arriving with jet lag. In comparison to european hotels space allocated to rooms is less. This is in keeping with norms in Japan however. would highly recommend
