FRIENDLY STAFF...HAD PROBLEM WITH TV REMOTE...WAS TAKEN CARE OF TO SATISFACTION....GOOD LOCATION

In recent years I had thought of Super 8 as a not-so-good hotel chain. Based on other reviews, I gave this one a chance & I am glad I did. The hotel was VERY CLEAN--no musty smell whatsoever--and nicely decorated. The bed & bedding was great. The room was a nice size, and it was QUIET! The location is easy to find and has plenty of shops & restaurants nearby. I have stayed at 4-star hotels that have not been as good as this one. My fiance and I were surprised that for only $60 we stayed in a clean facility, a comfortable bed, a room with plenty of amenities, and a free breakfast. We couldn't have asked for a better deal, especially last minute!

It smelled everywhere

Check-in was a breeze and the gentleman at the front desk was pleasant. Our room had two queen beds and the matresses were very comfy and new. There was a mild smoke/mold smell, but after the heater ran for a while it disappeared. Great shower with plenty of hot water and we couldn't hear any noise from other guests. We have stayed at Super 8’s in Wisconsin, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona and California. Most, if not all, of the facilities were merely adequate. Some a little better than most, some a little worse but ‘adequate’ is a fair description. No longer! Our recent 2 night stay at the Super 8, 1003 W. Morton Ave, Jacksonville, Illinois was, […] without a doubt, the most pleasurable of any of our stays,any where, including those at upper class establishments!! Aj & Bhvana Patel, the management team, provided us and all other travelers with a clean parking lot, an even cleaner building, an inviting and well decorated lobby, nicely carpeted halls, rooms featuring comfortable, clean beds, color coordinated walls and furnishings, flowers, the usual television plus a refrigerator, iron and ironing board, a microwave and a safe, all of which one could easily mistake as being in a 4-5 star room. Each morning, the Patel’s present – not provide – a complimentary continental breakfast far more complete than any other we have ever enjoyed. We chose from the usual cereals, donuts, juices and coffees but what makes their breakfast unique are the waffles and the biscuits with gravy! For the price, this was pretty much average. The man who check us in was nice. There was no elevator so we had to lug our suitcases up the stairs. This was hard on my back, i have two bulged disks, and rough on my wife's two artificial knees. However we made it OK. Parking here was not very good. nice and very comfortable, Impressed you supplied bottle water, where as the weekend before we spent in Jacksonville at another motel; they imformed us we had to supply our own bottle water and ice. Tacky after what we paid them.

For the price, I thought this motel was more than enough for the weekend getaway. Other than the correctional facility 3.5 miles down the road, the surrounding area provided a lot of choices for food and other necessary items.

This motel was not a 5 star, but it was comfortable and clean for the price. I would stay there again.

This hotel was FABULOUS. Small, but clean and COMFORTABLE. They had slightly larger beds, which took some of the space, but the beds...which was the purpose of the room...were COMFORTABLE!! The price included a friendly, clean and comfortable room and a simple filling breakfast...loved the WAFFLE Maker!!! As you can see I gave it an all 5 rating, very easy to get too, located in area with lots of shopping, and eaterys, Staff was very friendly, breakfast was okay, alot of hotels have the same thing. Could change it up a bit. Otherwise thumbs up!!! And I love the bright yellowish/orange building.

Okay

The Super 8 in Jacksonville, IL is a nice little hotel and very comfortable. It had a nive continental breakfast included with the stay. I enjoyed myself for the short time I was there.
