おしゃれな雰囲気はないですが、実用的なホテルです。 場所も、長距離バス停やEmpress Hotelなどから近く、便利です。 ビクトリアの観光名所（Empress Hotel、州議事堂、クレイダーロック城、ロイヤルBC博物館）へは徒歩圏内、Buchart Gardenまでのバスも長距離バス停から出ているので、至極便利です。

安いプランの為か、中庭が見える部屋との事でしたが、実際は裏の荷物搬入口が見えるだけで、少し残念でした。また、レトロな内装で良かったのですが、扇風機のみそぐわない感じがしました。ホテルのロケーションは良く、ビクトリアに宿泊するなら、１度は泊る事をお薦めします。

エンプレスホテルは歴史のある一級のホテルです。ホテルのヒストリカルツアーに参加しましたが、ホテルが建てられた当時の時代の衣装を着たガイドさんがホテルやヴィクトリアの歴史を写真や当初から変わらないホテルの調度品や部屋に案内しながら説明してくださり、歴史あるホテルならではの興味深い話が沢山聞けました。みなさんも一度は参加してみてください。また、立地条件も非常に良く、どこへ行くにもホテルが中心だったのでとても楽でした。

今回滞在したお部屋は、窓の外の眺めは最低（ゴミ収集車？もしくは他のトラックが出入りする場所）でしたが、その他（部屋の状態、スタッフのサービス）には満足できました。あ、冷蔵庫がなかったのは不満だったかな。でも、電気ポットがあったのは、プラスポイント！滞在中、conciergeの方に、レストランの予約、空港への送迎バスの予約等をお願いしたのですが、2度目からは名前を覚えていてくれて、なんだか嬉しくなりました。

憧れのエンプレスホテルでしたので、予約をした、アフタヌーンティーを満喫し、ホテルのチエックインをしました。予め部屋のベッドや備え付けの品等、確認して,2月頃に6月の予約をしましたが、いざ、言われた部屋は、違ったものでした。3人で宿泊でしたが、アメニティも2人分でした。部屋も一番奥の部屋で、コーヒーメーカーには濡れたあとがそのまま残っており、ホコリもありました。日本語のできるスタッフはいないとのことで、拙い英語でアメニティのことは言いましたが、かなりがっかりするホテルでした。

ディスカウント料金のせいかエレベーターから一番遠い部屋で、非常に不便を感じた。ホテルのサービスも決して良いとは言えず、スーツケースがあるのにポーターも来なかった。雰囲気は落ち着いていて良く、街歩きのアクセス、景色も良い（ただし部屋は裏側だったので、港は見えなかった）だけに残念な部分もあった。良いホテルなのだろうが、ディスカウントで安かろう悪かろうな部分を感じた。

とても格式と趣のあるいいホテルでした。 ホテルマンの方の接客もさすがです。 小さい街なので、どこにでも歩いていけるので便利です。 バレットパーキング有料やインターネット有料は高級ホテルなので仕方ありませんが、近隣にパーキングや無料のwifiのカフェなども探せばあるので、そちらを利用することもできます。 ホテルのお部屋のコーヒーや紅茶も充実していますし、建物そのものが素敵です。

Room was just ok. The service lacked - had to wait in line but the young receptionist was very nice. did not seem like the front desk was very organized - five people out there with only one helping people. The showerhead hit my husband mid chest. The sofabed was from the 70's. I would not recommend especially for the cost of the room!!!

Very well run. I don't think I've ever been in a hotel where I have felt more comfortable. That being said, I think it's a fun place for grown-ups, but I suspect children might find the place boring.

Went to a wedding which was held in Palm Court. (If I was planning a wedding, I would choose a room which didn't allow so much ambient noise from guests eating in open dining area next to it.) Everyone must visit Victoria and spend the night at The Empress at least once in their lives. Victoria is a walkable city and The Empress is incredible and central to all the sites in Victoria. Everything about the Empress is wonderful. The location, the services, the food and drinks. The rooms were fairly standard in size, but very charming. Thin walls, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
