We got stuck in a room that was right next to the main elevator. :/

We have stayed at moody gardens several times in the past prior to departing on a cruise. They would shuttle you to and from the cruise terminal and allow you to leave your car parked in their garage all for staying one night in the hotel. The room's shower backed up and did not have good drainage, but the bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and the thermostat worked well. We enjoyed the Sunday Brunch buffet in the hotel. It was inexpensive, big, and delicious. The staff was very courteous everywhere we went.

after complaining about hair in the tub and coffee maker not working I was not given discount . I waited 2 hours but no one came to bring me more coffee in room or come back to help me with the coffee maker.

We had such a great time, the hotel is very family friendly and had lots of organised kids events over the weekend. The rooms are well maintained, the staff are so very friendly and welcoming!! Our stay was perfect. It was wonderful to be able to walk to the Pyramids (Rainforest and Aquarium). Short drive to the Sea Wall and Galveston State Park. Moody Gardens had some great kid festivities too. Perfect for a family with children ages 4-12. Our room was on the 8th floor and had a great view of the grounds. One issue was the elevators at check […] out. Only 2 were working and we had to wait almost 25 minutes before we finally decided to walk 8 flights down. Which the kids loved doing!! My stay was very good .. Room service was excellent as we ordered food at 10:30PM and it was at our room in 15 minutes.. everyone was curtious and the bartender was entertaining.

Moody Gardens is a pretty nice hotel. They could stand a few minor upgrades....painting, re-tile (shower). However, overall the service was great. If you go check out Shearn's the restaraunt in the hotel. The service was exceptional and the food is good. This was a nice stay for the price.

The good - beautiful room, beautiful pool area, friendly lobby staff The bad - check-in not till 4pm, check-out 12pm. We really thought we would get more "hotel time" for what we paid. And we had someone knocking on our door at 11:40 to make sure we were leaving. (Yes, we were packing at the last minute). Wow! Beautiful view and comfy beds. One restaurant requires reservations and we didn't get to go there, but we went to the lounge and was able to order food there. We weren't dressed up to the dress code but they let us stay anyway with no hassle. The pianist was wonderful and we danced the night away. Our waitress, Heather Martinez, was very attentive […] and we never wanted for anything. The chef came out to check on us and we couldn't say enough about the juicy tender steak and lobster. Very nice hotel, breakfast buffet was wonderful, room was spacious, and room service was VERY good. Will definitely stay again.

Our room was unbearably hot. The hotel turned on the heat for the entire building, overriding our room thermostat. the heat was unbearable and miserable. There was no way to cool the room since the thermostat was overridden and there are no windows or doors to the outside. Awful.

Took my family to Moody Garden and stayed at the hotel which is very convenience. Hotel is nice, clean and what I expected. We bought a year pass so we will definitely go back soon.

The hotel is well kept but the rooms are aging a bit. Hotel staff is excellent. Service in bar area was slow. The check was presented before we were finished and we felt rushed. We actually wanted to order another drink. This is a real pet peeve of mine,

When we arrived, 2 lamps, the refrigerator and the TV were not working. Maintenance came quickly and , after a number of trips, discovered that 1. a light bulb needed to be replaced 2. a lamp needed to be plugged in behind the TV/dresser 3. The circuit to the TV was not on 4. When maintenance moved the refrigerator, all of the melted ice soaked the […] carpeting. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel, even though it could use some updating. There was a small amount of mildew in the bathroom and the curtains are designed not to shut all the way, making the room very bright at night. The hotel all in all was very nice and I would stay again.

Moody Gardens is beautiful! We visit Galveston frequently, and this is one of the prettiest and nicest hotels we have stayed at for a good price. The rooms had lots of great little perks, such as a Keurig coffee/tea maker and a view of the Moody Gardens pyramid. We will definately visit again in the summer, as the hotel has a private beach!

The hotel was great and had excellent amenities.We will be back for sure.

The hotel was surrounded by fun places, it was close to the sea wall which had some nice sandy beach areas for walking or to do what you wanted, and at a very close driving distance you could find restaurants to choose from.

Conveniently located next to aquarium and rainforest. Great hotel service.

Stayed for two days during the Lone Star Rally. Hotel staff was very nice. Room was great. Plan on staying there again next year.

We really enjoyed our Anniversary weekend using the Spa and visiting all of the activites.

The weather was perfect, the weekend was perfect and the hotel was perfect for our anniversary weekend. Fabulous food and service at the Shearn's Lounge 9th floor. The proximity to the airport was perfect as we flew to the island. We will be back. Next time I will make time to go to the Spa.

Did not have king size bed as stated

Moody Gardens is a lovely hotel surrounded by beautiful landscaping and is located right next to a water park.. It has loads of entertainment for the adults, as well as children. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfotable. I recommend it highly to anyone wishing to stay there.

The overall hotel is not bad. I would rate it a 3 star. The pros: close to the park, very nice man made beach and amenities. Cons: The overall resort is a bit worn and outdated. The caliber of people staying there was pretty bad. I think most of the rooms were over stuffed with guests trying to cram people in because they really couldn't afford the […] room otherwise. The pool area was full of shady people swimming in their clothing or cut off jeans. Kids were screaming and running around until 11 pm. Even the "adult" area had screaming kids running around completely unsupervised. So here is my suggestion - if you are looking for a family style resort where you can put 5 kids + family into one very crowded room, this is your place. First, let me get the pros for this hotel stated. The lobby was very nice. The room was very clean, spacious, and wifi was easily accessible. We slept well, so as far as the most important things, the stay was a success. However, I have had equally fine rooms at a much lower cost. When we got there, we were asked if we "need to have the pyramid room". […] I replied that it cost extra, so “yes please”. The reason I wanted this was that some features like bedding were listed as "premium", so for a little more money I thought it would be worth it. While clean, I can't say there was anything premium about the bedding. It was pretty basis and the whole room seemed kind of cheap in its decor. There is no free breakfast or paper. This was not a surprise, but once you look at the lack of anything else extra, you wonder what you're paying for. Without rambling on, I would just sum up to say that the room was perfectly fine. We attended a concert at the 1894 Opry House and decided to book room at Moody Gardens. The service was great and we extended our weekend by visiting the Imax theater the next day.

We decided to stay in Galveston after attending a concert at the Opera House and booked a room at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Spa.It was: G - Grand R - Relaxing E - Excellent A - Appealing T - Touche...we hit the mark!

Our stay at Moody Gardens was fantastic. The hotel personnel were friendly, our room was great & the location was perfect. Thanks for a fabulous Anniversary weekend.

The hotel was nice. Nice clean room. Sink had some drainage problem and the cable wasn't the best, but everything else was good. Pool was phenonal. Views were good. Close to all the fun. Great just after summer for a weekend out.

GREAT SERVICE, ATMOSPHERE, LOCATION - we enjoyed out stay and will stay again in the future.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The front desk is friendly and corteous. This hotel is children friendly. Swiming and water fun can be found within the hotel or nearby.

I would stay there again.

Overall, my stay was fine, BUT I definitely don't think the rooms were worth the price paid. They were no better than any regular standard 3 star hotel.
