This hotel could be so much better some staff were Fantastic some need to be shipped out as they clearly have no customer skills at all.

hotel was once an icon but now falling ill under maintained not looked after and. becoming shabby rooms not very good and wife had to kneel down on floor to use hair dryer shame

very enjoyable food lovely room clean and tidy

bed shetts had holes in them. mattress not perfect. dirty marks on blanket on bed. left 2 dirty towels in bathroom which were not changed. breakfast was superb but evening meal,which we paid £12.50 each was disappointing. small portions and on one night,not hot.evening entertainment was mind boggling either!

I felt we needed a well deserved break,the offer sounded good, price to good to be true,however I would say this would of been a ' great ' hotel in 30s/40s, needs a complete makeover would not be booking another break there.

HOTEL IS IN NEED OF REFURBISHING, THE ROOMS ARE OLD AND WORN OUT, THE HOTEL TURNED DOWN THE HEATING DURING THE DAY, AND THE PRICES FOR MEALS WERE EXPENSIVE OVER THE NEW YEAR PERIOD ALSO THE RESTAURANT CLOSED ON THE 30TH AND 31ST DEC SO THERE WAS NO OPTION,

Not suitable as a business venue, entertainment every night prevents bar access, key lost its code everyday, room not serviced one of the days

the receptionist who was on duty at the time we had arrived on sat 22/10/11,was very helpful with the unfortunate position we were in at the time.aslo all through the day until we were actually had checked in. we could'nt thank her enough for her hospitality,help and consideration to us.

The rooms surprised me with a good shower and jacuzzi, the lack of staff was not good, it was possibly okay in off season but that week was a Scottish holiday for the children and it was busy. The breakfast was good apart from the fact that the food was not warm enough, again one extra cook would have made a difference. As per usual with this brand of hotel the fabric of the building and the fixtures and fittings were in need of complete refurbishment. It was somewhere to sleep, only a £5 taxi ride away from the main nightspots. The breakfast was edible. One unexpected highlight was the jaccuzi bath in the bathroom. For the price I paid it wasn't too bad.

A charming old building in a charming setting. The room was disappointing: old and tired, and smelly. The toilet bowl was leaking and a plastic bucket had been placed under it to catch the water: on reporting this to the front desk they told us they knew about it, but didn't offer to fix it or find us another room. First of all Id like to say that im not one of the types to compain about hotels or anything else for that matter..... First of all out bed was so hard it was like laying on the floor, the thick black dirt on the windows that had clearly never been cleaned was discuting. The room was so hot because of the massive pipe running through it that you needed the window open that wouldnt stay open without something propping it up. The cold tap was loose and felt like it woulf break when u used it. We asked for more toilet roll at reception was told someone was bringing it up now and 4 hour later I had to call again as we were still waiting and was rudely told to come down and get it ourselves. Is to far from main attractions,although you can get there after 20 minute bus ride.Not ideal for families with young children.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel which has obviously been a 'grand' place in former days. We are not saying it is poor now, but it's a bit tired in places. We found the staff always helpful and attentive. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the short walk to the town centre and felt away from any rowdiness.

Faded elegance, harking back to a bygone age. Out of season, the hotel is peopled with coach trip passengers.

The hotel rooms need updating, poor showers, falling of the wall. Damp Walls. Not a good hotel in any respect.

Went with open mind having read reviews. We stayed the night following RE dinner. Dinner was good, entertainment excellent. Breakfast VERY dissapointing (orange juice and tea undrinkable)

In an ideal location on the Queens Promenade in Blackpool, the Savoy is well situated for all the amenities a traveller would expect, without the noise and bustle of a more central location. With a 10 minute tram service, plus specials, into town and regular buses it is no problem at all getting to all the shops and attractions of Blackpool. When it's […] exceptionally busy, it makes sense to use the Cliffs tram stop heading south, rather than Gynn Square, as trams tend to become full at the Cliffs - both stops are roughly the same distance from the hotel. On the theme of being busy, it is well to arrive early for breakfast at the hotel at peak times of the year, as seating is at a premium and queues do form as time passes. The staff are very friendly and helpful, although they do seem to be well stretched at these hectic periods and if arriving at meal times one should be prepared for a long wait for assistance with baggage (I was told it would be an hour - although I was moved to a room where assistance was not necessary, ie fully accessible by lift). If you have to wait, then the bar affords pleasant views out to sea across Jubilee Gardens on the Promenade plus at night views of the Illuminations during their Season. Choice of food is generally excellent, especially at breakfast and dinner is served at table, which is very convenient if you use a walking stick as I do. The rooms are always maintained in excellent order and cleanliness and the housekeeping staff are friendly and obliging. nice peaceful location, but hotel a bit tired looking. Pigeons kept us awake some of the night outside the window. Breakfast room very busy in the morning had to wait to be seated, alot of tables not cleared and ran out of tea.

The hotel appeared to be booked to capacity the weeken we visited, there were also two wedding parties. Despite this there were few staff on duty in the public areas especially the bar area. The main bar was often out of service and guest were directed by a sign to other bars in function rooms. The room we were allocated was on the 4th floor despite […] there only being three floors to the hotel! We climbed the stairs to the third floor walked through a number of corridors around various corners to a narrow flight of stairs which led to what must be the most appalling room i have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The room was small, felt claustrophobic and was sparcely furnished with a small portable TV that was not able to get much of a reception. The standard of cleanliness was very poor there was dirt and dead insects on the window sill. We stayed for 5 nights and did ask on a daily basis for the first three nights to move to another room however on each ocassion were told brusquely that the hotel was full. My partner asked for us to be moved to another room again on the last night of our break and this time we were given another room on the first floor which was a very nice spacious room (this was a different staff member than we had asked previously). This memeber of staff told my partner at this time that we should never have been put in that room in the first place, i suspect that this accomodation would maybe have been reserved for staff at some point! This hotel was dingy and extremely dull. Restaurant manager was abrupt and herding guests about like cattle, but giving no direction to his waiting staff, who were trying their best. The charm of this hotel is hidden by its tiredness, what looks to be one of the more impressive hotels along the promenade is shattered by a mass of white frame and glass. The entrance door, which is spring loaded to eject everyone but the heaviest or strongest individual, Leads to a reception and bar that is clean. Our room still had the imprint of the previous occupants in the bed and evidence of usage in the bathroom and toilet this was resolved with the speed and efficiency of a seasoned professional, demonstrating staff used to dealing with such issues. Breakfast was chaotic, large round tables left to the mercy of residents seeking their morning meal, spaces limited by dirty plates and glasses. Those that manage to source a seat stand guard as friends and family tackle the buffet. I am unable to comment on the quality of the food other than to reccomend Rose’s café. During our second and last night we were serenaded to wakefulness by the creaking of everything except the bed as we tossed and turned to find a comfortable sleeping position under a mound of pillows and quilt. I sent a full review to the Hotel and the Britannia group some 4 hours before posting here. Hotellet var meget nedslidt. Skaller fra loftet hang ned. Rørene i værelset var indpakket i flosset isoleringsmateriale. Skabet kunne ikke åbnes. Morgenmaden var rimelig. Et billigt hotel, men ville gerne have betalt lidt ekstra for at få en tålelig komfort.
