"Nice and newly remodelled"

I made the reservation online and didnt realize that I left it as 1 occupant (usually this doesn't matter much?) but upon check in they saw that I was with my boyfriend, asked if he was staying and charged me $10 extra per night. I'm paying for a king suite! Why should I pay an extra fee per person unless I'm cramming in 10 people or something! Also […] the fold out bed/couch was broken, with a sign asking us not to use the bed. We also got a call about 15 mins before check out asking us if we are still planning to check out. This made us stress out that if we were even remotely late that they'd charge us. Other than that people were nice, there was a lot of construction going on but it wasn't noisy in our room. My stay here was okay. I travel a lot and stay in many different levels of hotels. I believe I had higher expectations for the price. The access road was not the best of conditions, parked tractor trailers were lining the road making it difficult to see when entering and leaving places. The front desk staff was pleasent. The hotel has renovations going on with caution tape in areas. My biggest frustration was being told by the head housekeeper that it was a requirement that she enter our room. We try to be eco friendly and reuse towels and didn't feel we needed the room cleaned. My only complaint was I wish the breakfast area was larger with more tables. People had to stand to eat their breakfast, and it was very crowded just preparing your food.
