The hotel Mgr Johnathan was very nice. I was there to visit a sick relative and the hotel was decent and not too far from hospital

The busy street out front is very loud, and kept us up at night. It sounded like we had the windows open, but they obviously weren't.

We enjoyed the stay here. The room was nice and big and the breakfast was ok. The only thing that we didn't like was the house keeping is done very late. We left to go shopping at 10am and returned at 12pm and our room had not been done.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. A decent breakfast - more than just continental. The make your own waffles were better than some I've had. The hotel was small, and our room was right on the busy street and a bit noisy. When we asked to change rooms, they said they were full, although there were hardly any cars in the lot. I really feel Comfort during my stay in this hotel.

We enjoyed the motel the room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was good. And loved being near the mall and stores. Breakfast was great. Able to make your own waffles, beagles, eggs and more. We really enjoyed it and would stay there again. Front desk was very friendly during check in and out.

Our stay was due to price and convience for an unexpected trip. The site could have a higher rating if it were not for the traffic noise, people arguing in the hallways at all hours of the night with no help from the management to stop it. When told of an injury to the forehead because of the shower head falling, we were told the manager would be told […] about it. Several motels in the area are questionable and this one is clean. This Hotel was in a Quite neighborhood with banks and a Shopping mall all within walking distance. Also Downey Ca has access to 4 freeways that surround the city. i'll be back for sure Hotel itself was clean fresh and helpful staff!

Everything was great but except, when my wife took a shower i went next and no hot water. This is the first for me that a hotel runs out of hot water !

So I booked my reservation for the Comfort Inn at ease as I have stayed in other Comfort Inn hotels elsewhere. When I was booking, it showed new type of rooms saying there were flat screen TV's in the room and all. The outdoor pictures were with palm trees and looked like a safe and decent place to stay...very deceiving. When I arrived there were people […] arguing outside in the parking lot. I was embarrassed because I had my fiance and her family with me. I ignored it and went to the office. The hallways were dark and a lot of exposed piping with cats running around. When I walked in I asked to see the room. It was an asian man who helped me whose name started with an "M". He insisted to see my credit card first and I said "No, first I'd like to see the room." He replied, "Don't worry about the rooms, they're nice, let me have your credit card." And again I refused and he angrily took me up to the rooms I booked. The smell was overwhelming. The ceiling had water damage spots and had folds from poor maintenance. No flat screens! The bathroom was decent but again...the smell in a "non-smoking" room, this bad...? I went back into the lobby and said I wanted to cancel my reservation. He said "you can't do anything, you already paid through hotels.com so you might as well stay at least one night" I refused and he slammed his hands on the counter. UNBELIEVABLE! Downey Inn is located close to malls and fast food; knowledgeable and accommodating front desk (brought and extra chair to room); excellent and varied breakfast including hard-boiled eggs, fresh waffles, cereals, toast, etc. Great stay.

The lobby and the desk help are fine, including the nice continental breakfast. and Wall Street Journals. The only real complaints I have are with the sink vanity area lights and counter, which are very dated and dirty looking even though they are clean,and the carpet is yucky.. The cleaning staff left their cart in front of our hotel room door, and when we moved it; they moved it back, the cart remained there for at least 2 hours, how long does it take to clean one room? Guess that is why there were no rooms available when we tried to check in a bit early. We stayed in the last week of Feb'10 at this hotel. Very decent hotel, if staying with family, nice neighbourhood, in front of the mall. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Decent B'fast. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The main complaint I have is that the TV did not work properly. The volume would go in and out, there would be no sound at all at times. The staff was not very friendly so I did not feel comfortable telling them about the TV. I would probably not stay at this hotel again.

Our stay was pleasant and our room newly remodeled and clean. Morning front desk personnel were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast area was small; but, clean and well stocked. Although off a very busy street, the road noise was suprisingly limited and we will use this property the next time we are in the area.

Our stay at the Comfort Inn in Downey was very good. We didn't stay long enough to get to know much about it other than it was clean, the staff was friendly and we liked that it had a continental breakfast. It was easy to get to the freeway and our desired destinations from this motel.

We visit Los Angeles area frequently (about 6 times a year, sometimes more) and this is so far one of the best hotels we have found. Close to many attractions and "hot spots". Easy access to freeways but not too close that the noise is bothersome. Hotel was clean and staff was willing to help. Got a little frustrated when checking in I was told my credit […] card was rejected (even though it went through 3 times when he ran it) and the guy working at the desk didn't seem to know what he was doing. But they corrected the problem and were very friendly about it. Continental breakfast was perfect (included fresh fruit and waffles). This was a quick trip to LA for me and I just wanted to stay overnight for a nice and relaxing time. This hotel provided me what I wanted, nice and clean room, perfectly comfortable bed and great staff service. Wi-fi worked just great too. At the end of our stay, we are pretty happy with our stay. Room was nice and very clean. Beds were comfy. Nice breakfast and very efficient customer service. No complaints. Will be back again.

We came to Downey for a family event. stayed at this hotel for just one night. The customer service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was in LA with my girlfriend on a vacation on our way to San Diego. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Our room was nice and very clean. Noticed the clear difference between ordinary bedding and their Comfort INN style bedding. WE enjoyed nice sound sleep every night. Air conditioning was superb. We were in Downey area to attend some family function so booked rooms here. Were very happy with our stay. On our request, staff gave us room on the third floor. Room was big and very clean. Stayed at this hotel for a week. Couldn't ask for a better value than this. I mean the room was super clean. Got room serviced daily. Beds were great. good price and clean

My family had stayed at this hotel earlier also so we kind of knew what to expect but frankly they exceeded my expectations this time. I was pleasantly surprised to see the lobby area because it looked totally different from what I saw in my last stay. Seemed like they had a major renovation going on there. Room was very clean with very nice and neat […] bedding. Beds were also very comfortable. Air-conditioning was simply great because it was super hot when we checked-in. I also noticed that they have expanded their breakfast menu too. Waffles was an immediate hit with my children. One day we got a little late for our breakfast but staff was so nice that they asked the breakfast attendant to provide everything that we needed immediately to us. That's what I call exceptional service. My family was a little loud in the lobby area because kids were having fun, but not once the front desk staff objected to the noise because there were no other guests in the lobby at that time. My dad and I were visiting Downey for a wedding in the family. After booking our room through Hotels.com, I called the hotel to request an early check-in because we were reaching LA early morning and afternoon, we had to there at the function. Hotel manager was very understanding and he allowed us early check-in due to which we were able to freshen […] up and get ready for the big function in time. Besides great customer service, their room was also sparkling clean. When we reached there, there were some Gas company workers working on the street with lot of machines creating lot of noise. Manager was very nice because he provided us a backside room where there was hardly any noise so we could relax before heading to the wedding. Free coffee in the lobby area was a great thing for us after a long flight. After coming back from the wedding, we were pretty tired and crashed in the beds. Their beds were great too with pillow-top mattresses. Continental breakfast was also pretty nice with boiled eggs and Belgian waffles. One of my relatives was in Downey Regional Medical Center and this hotel is pretty close by. So, I stayed at this hotel with my husband for 4 nights. Upon my request, they gave us a ground floor room. From the check-in time, the way the staff was treating us, I knew we are at a great place. My husband is a big time coffee drinker and he was pleased […] to know that they had 24-hr coffee available in the lobby. Our bed in the room was very nice. I am very picky about mattresses but their mattresses were great that provided me great sleep for all nights. First night, some kids were making noise on the upper floor but when I called the front desk, they took care of the issue right away. I wish they had a pool but they have an outside hot tub which was good enough for us. Visiting my sick brother was very stressful but I am glad at least we had a nice place to stay at. Their breakfast was also pretty nice which truly was a great value added in the price. When we arrived there, we saw a Gold Award banner posted in front of the property. I think they deserve this because their staff service and room quality was absolutely great. I thank the Manager and other housekeepers for making our stay as comfortable as they did.
