エセックス ハウス ホテル (Essex House Hotel)

建物はかなり古いと思いますが、きちんと手入れされ清潔な印象でした。受付スタッフの方も親切だし、自由に飲めるレモネードもおいしかったです。 空室があったのか角部屋の景色の良い部屋に変更して貰えました。オーシャンドライブより一本入っているから夜も比較的静かで、立地も良かったです。もし、また行くことがあればまた泊まりたいホテルです。

You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It's proximity to the beach, restaurants and nightlife is amazing. The rooms were small, but comfortable and clean. My only concern was that they seem to be extremely understaffed. At night it was difficult to get anyone to answer the phone or assist us with a few issues. My boyfriend tried to find someone to give us hot water for tea and it took several tries and several requests to get someone to accommodate. A very good hotel cheaper than those in the neighbourhood. Located about 2 minutes from the beach, close to dozen of restaurants and also next to the Big Bus stop. They have a very good Japanese restaurant that I can only recommend. I will stay again.

The Essex was fantastic. We stayed here on a Tuesday and Wednesday in March 2013. The location was central to South Beach and we easily walked to all our destinations. I called for several days before I could even get someone at the front desk to make a change to my reservation. Each call resulted in about 20 minutes on hold with either to be hung up on or told to call back, no one could help me. The agent I finally reached told me she noted the change in the reservation, however when I went to check in the guy that […] helped me said he had no record of the change, that I forfeited my reservation and that I had to pay a second time. We booked a 2 night stay at the Essex House Hotel and we weren't disappointed with the location or facilities. It was easy to find and there was valet parking when we arrived. The staff at reception were friendly and informative, suggesting local tours and making us feel welcome. Our room was close to reception but was quiet and overlooked a little […] courtyard. It was one street over from Ocean Drive so the bars, restaurants and beach were all close by and walkable. Lincoln Road is a must for shopping and is only a few blocks walk. The staff was welcoming, courteous, friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect! One very short block away from great restaurants, entertainment and the beach! Close to shopping areas. I enjoyed the Art Deco decor. Staying at the Essex House also entitled me to access to the Clevelander roof top decks and pools. Will definitely go back.

I left a scarf behind and realised a couple of hours after departure. For a week I phoned and emailed them every day to try and retrieve it, but they never replied. They just don't answer the phone. The front desk is manned by polite smiling people, but completely clueless about any query thrown at them.

Great hotel right behind The Clevelander in South Beach. Walk to beach, restaurants and nightlife. Much quieter and cozier than The Clevelander but have full access to everything there. Restaurant was fantastic with wonderful service.

Overall, this was a fine place to stay. The room was decent but small, with no place to lay anything down. Beds were ok but I could feel each spring of the mattress. That being said, it was clean, the windows kept the surrounding sound out and it was one block from the beach.

For an older building it was in okay condition. It is very clean and house keeping does a remarkable job. There was a loud "motor-type" of noise that seemed to be coming from the vents that kept waking me up even with my ear plugs on.
