The rooms were nice and it was nice to only have neighbors on two sides. Like the little casitas, fireplace, and all the pools. Bathrooms are a bit small, but adequate. La Quinta continues to be one of the finest, and yet friendliest places around; with 21st century comforts yet lots of nostalgia from the 20's and 30"s. Like the meal choices and the different ambience depending on what you're after, that day. Loved it.

The title says it all. Our room was in a neighborhood. The room was dark and in desperate need of an update. This Waldorf property was certainly not the Boulders which I have stayed and it is lovely. We were not near a bar or restaurant. We went on Christmas Eve. I wish we would have stayed home.

We had a wonderful two-night stay. It was perfect for our young kids, with the playground, candy shop, kids menus, the individual pool and hot tub courtyards, game room, fruit picking on property, etc. The only downside is the room itself is more like a really nice motel room than a nice resort room, but the beds were comfortable and it had an empty […] refrigerator for our milk and food. This is a very large resort, and a great place to relax. If you're in need of pampering or just want to get away from the "rat race", make the La Quinta Resort & Spa your destination. There is no other hotel like it. The staff is attentive, there are great restaurants on the property and plenty of swimming pools, tennis courts and golf courses. My wife and I have been going there for 20 years.

My 10 year old daughter and I needed a quick getaway from life at home. We chose La Quinta Spa and Resort because the grounds are lovely, the pool relaxing and the spa offers services for younger girls. My daughter was in heaven and I left feeling very relaxed. Highly recommend for mother/young daughter weekend getaway.

It was the best experience my fiance and I have had at any hotel we have stayed in. We will be staying at the La Quinta Resort again next year.

We were given one of the original / historic casitas, that while charming, felt a bit more Best Western motel than I'm sure management intends. The rooms could be a bit more luxurious (esp at that price point) and the bathrooms definitely need an update. The bed was quite comfortable, but the furniture was quite old, the art on the wall was sparse and […] oddly placed. The amenities were also surprisingly lacking (i.e. towels fairly generic and light weight, bath products of motel caliber, and there were no robes provided.) My family (consisting of husband and two Shih Tzus) wanted a quick trip to any place that was warm enough that we could go swimming. (We live in San Diego and the water is too cold for us native-Southerners!) We chose the La Quinta resort for its FORTY POOLS! If you visit in August like we did (the slow season) we almost always had a pool to ourselves. […] While it was hot - it's so dry that if you stay in the shade it's not bad at all. The clerk upgraded our room when we arrived to accommodate our two furry beasts and delivered pet beds, bones and bowls to our room. The resort fee was $50 for furry patrons, which is very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. You can lounge at any number of private pools, at the main pool with food and beverage service, or a pool with DJ and little livelier atmosphere. Service here was pretty good. We tried out almost all of the restaurants on the property as well as room service and had no complaints. Overall - it's a great place if you want to come and relax. The hotel was actually very nice and it was nice having a pool in front of the room. Suggest that you do not forget anything. I left my special pillow and although the pillow and my monogramed pillow case were sent back to me - someone kept my pillow cover.

Had a lovely end to a long road trip by relaxing in this wonderful location.

I booked a "deluxe casita 2 queen poolside". The online hotel description states that all rooms have a mountain, pool or garden view. Actually, my room had a view of the fluorescent-lit public Men's room across from my door. The men's room was situated directly between my room and the pool, so I wasn't exactly poolside. There was a lawn and sidewalk […] between my door and the Men's room - perhaps that's what they consider a "garden" view, but it did not meet my expectations. When I first checked in, the hotel staff did not offer to help bring my luggage to the room. The hotel clerk drew a little map to show me where I could park and walk to the room. It looked really close on his map. However, if I had followed his directions, I would have had to traipse across and through the landscape of the plant and palm-filled islands in the main driveway to get to the room. To detour around this barrier, the distance was farther than he had described, and I hauled my luggage through the hotel grounds. This got me off to a bad start attitude-wise. The resort is very attractive in some areas, if you have the funds for one of their more upscale rooms and can take advantage of their amenities when the weather is cooler. However, I booked in the sweltering heat of the off-season. Also, the resort is so remote that there's not much else that the neighborhood has to offer. On the plus side, the pools were plentiful, the place seemed nearly vacant, and my kids could enjoy a pool almost to themselves. There is something about this place that makes you feel really special. I love the old hollywood history, the hacienda motif, friendly staff and pools galore. The kind front desk clerk upgraded us when she heard we were returning guests. Highly recommend and will be back again.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The pictures on hotels.com do not even show 1% of what the hotel (resort) really looks like. They have like 42 pools, amazing bar at the main pool, super super super friendly staff that will guide you in the right direction of where to go and eat outside the resort. although there are many hotels that cater to families, I dont know of many that actually have a pool for young toddlers to play in. La quinto resort does. It has a 1.5ft small kids pool that my young children loved. It also had a play area next to the main pool. We spent three days at the resort and loved the individual little 'houses'. The grounds of the hotel are beyond beautiful with flowers and palm trees every where and surrounded by mountains. The property is large enough to go for a good run or a romantic walk and the fitness center was great as well. This is a luxurious, comfortable, well-maintained space. The grounds are gorgeous. I highly recommend a poolside Casita in the 8 or 900s because you will be close to the main pool and bar when you want it, but still have your "own" pool and hot tub right near you. enjoyed the comfortable bed and especially the fireplace. we wanted privacy and quiet and got it. the bathroom was spotless and towels were not stingy. everything is available just ask. great staff.

At check in we were told we might not get a parking space because they were very crowded. The room was dank, and very hot with low ceilings and a small window. After dinner the air conditioner was still not working and we were made to spend the entire evening with a maintenance guy in the room. Woke up tired to find out people are not allowed on the […] lush grounds advertised on the internet unless they purchase golf time. We don't golf, we walk. We were told to walk we would have to go outside of the resort. We were given printed directions for this walk. It was described as a nature walk. It was a side walk along busy roads requiring crossing said roads at various points. There were nice plants growing in the peoples yard we walked by. We felt we were intruding on their privacy. The hotel refused to let us depart early without penalty, ie they wouldn't refund anything. After repeated calls the manager let us go the third day. Beautiful Resort. Love the Tennis Courts and the grounds are very well maintained. Peaceful and fun. Restaurants on the property are very good and you gotta love a resort that has this many pools!!

This hotel is like staying in a Mexican village. The entire property is charming with adobe buildings and hand-painted tiles. We ate in every restaurant and had really great meals. My husband and I each had a spa treatment the day after we arrived and found the spa to be lovely. We can't wait to go back.

When we entered our room, we found that there was no bottled water in the room. We called the front desk to make sure that there was no charge after check out. After an evening out, we returned to our room late and while getting ready for bed, we found Black Mold on the toilets door jam. That pretty much made our night of sleep unstable. The hotel staff was extremely nice. Linda the concierge was exceptional, she booked our dinner plans, gave directions and suggestions on what to do in the area. The beds were a bit uncomfortable - they felt like they had rocks in them! The carpet in the room looked like it needed to be cleaned, it had stains on it.

We booked a spa villa. It was beautiful, spacious and very family and dog friendly. Full kitchen and fireplace were nice as was the dining patio attached to the kitchen. Service at the hotel was great, tennis courts were very well maintained. Only disappointment was with the spa. It was under remodeling, cramped, under-staffed and the ladies at the […] front desk were a little snooty. Apparently the spa is leased by a private company, not run by the hotel. We tried to book facials on Thursday morning and the earliest we could get was Sunday at 10. And then only one. We stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect. We were booked for a standard king room. When we got there the room had only 1 small window. We asked if any of the other rooms had more natural light. The hotel was very booked but they had a room with 2 queens. We moved there as there were 3 large windows and it was literally steps from one of […] the many pools. Absolutely perfect. The grounds are beautiful. We spend time relaxing by the water features, under the trees looking at the beautiful flowers. We will definitely return and would highly recommend it. I have the opportunity to travel to many meetings each year, but always make sure sure that I attend the one that is held at the LaQuinta. The staff is exceptional, the grounds historic and I always leave feeling refreshed. If you have ever been to a nice resort and worried that you might not fit in...no worries at the La Quinta. All are welcome.
