I will NEVER stay there again. We stood in line for 1 1/2 hours to check in!! It was so bad that they were passing cookies (really cardboard) and tea and water out!! Have you ever seen that before. I have attended a lot of very large conventions and have never had this happen. One of the employees told me "everyone just showed up at one time" this was […] at 3:30 but at 7:30 I passed through the lobby and the line was longer then than it was at 3?? Hmm what could have caused that? I have to say the check in agents were very nice and everyone working there was. But to have a hotel this large attached to a convention center and not be able to accommodate the check ins that they KNEW were going to be there is ridiculous. It was very easy for me to get to where I was going the staff was very nice with telling us where everything was and the rooms where very clean.

Seems like the hotel could have posted the fact that the pool was under contruction, the main reason we chose this hotel was for our kids to have fun swimming and we didn't know until we were in our swimming suits staring at the pool door sign- Total Bummer!

PROS: Hotel public areas and rooms were nice and well kept. All employees I interacted with were helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was only $8 which I considered cheap compared to N.O. and Atlanta. Connected to the BJCC so great if you are attending an event there. Otherwise I would stay somewhere else. grrr, this is my first review with a negative feel. First, the hotel was great, very clean, great restaurant service, wonderful! However, we went there specifically to see a musical at the concert hall. We got the hotel specifically for the convenience of being close. As we arrived, we got our room in the "Atrium" wing. We don't do valet, so they offered […] us unlimited parking in the garage for $12/day. Once we got our keys and checked out we found out that the garage is on the opposite side of the BJCC complex. We had to lug our stuff through two main hallways in the BJCC (walking by all the convention folks) just to get to the hotel. Once in the hotel we took the elevator to the 12th floor and then found out we were in the TOWER Bldg (our room was in the ATRIUM wing - never explained to us by the person checking us in). So we walked all the way around - probably a good 10 minute walk to our room with all of our luggage in tow. We went downstairs to get lunch and stopped by the front desk to ask for a map of the facility. They only had a printout of the BJCC complex and I had to point out where we were parked (the person at the counter did not know the garage was where I said it was). Once they agreed with me, they said "you should just have the valet help you" Well, I don't like using valet and paying for that service. On event night, we followed the overhead signs to "CONCERT HALL" and actually went from our ATRIUM room through the hotel (TOWER) and following the CONCERT HALL signs, looped back to the ATRIUM!!! grrrr. We walked a complete circle following the signs. So we get out the door and go see the show. On the way back, we walk to the same door we went out of (8:30pm in the rain) and the door was locked (no key entry or anything). We circled the entire building and found out the only way in was the main entrance. When you make a reservation for a room with a king size bed for a special occasion, beware. Your reservation is merely a request. So, having made my reservation 2 months in advance, my wife and I were given a room with 2 queens. It's okay for a day but don't stay any longer. You will get no rest. No parking or $12 a day parking? Is that a choice. And it's a long way to walk. Leave the seniors at home. Housekeeping=too loud. Valets were a mess. Front desk is not a desk it is a kiosk and no one ever stays there to help you more than 3 minutes then they disappear. Very spacious room. Neighborhood a bit deserted at night. Hotel provided shuttle to Five Points dining and shopping area. Often a longish walk to elevators from rooms and escalator kept breaking down. All in all a pleasant place to stay, though.

The Service was wonderful! The breakfast was the best I have ever had and the price was great. The hotel was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. It was truly a surprise for the price.

Good hotel, friendly staff, great location, just a little situation, there was someone still in the room they gave us. The resolved rapidly the snafu and the rest of the stay was very pleasant.

We were seeing a play across the street at the BJCC. Convenience was the sole purpose for making a reservation at the Sheraton. The overall experience and stay were below average. The room was minimally furnished and not very comfortable. The restaurant had limited choices and the bar closed early for a weekend night.

Extremely dated with cheap finishes. Nothing around within walking distance. Terrible sports bar in hotel that was overpriced with disgusting food. I travel every week for work and this was one of my worst stays.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton and would look forward to staying with you again in the future. With tat said, I offer the following thoughts, withe the hope that they can make your hotel even better and more appealing. Something to consider: In the breakfast dining room the cups and glasses were turned upside down so that mouth of the cups ans […] glasses were directly on the table. My wife and I wondered if the table was really clean and if this was a sanitary way to "store" the cups and glasses. Too, my wife and I noticed that in Europe some hotels have a small container on the tables for putting trash, such as various paper items from the food. For example, plastic jelly containers. Room too hot... took forever to cool down. Elevators too far from rooms in atrium section. Cracked toilet seat, Ouch! Pool closed (too much chlorine) Nothing near by.....

I arrived at the hotel a little early, and Jocelyn was a great help checking in. She was warm and helpful and found me a room that was already clean and available. We used the valet service and bellhop and both were efficient (the bellhop beat us up to the room). After resting from the road I headed down to the pool and fitness center. The pool was […] a good size and the hot tub felt really good. The fitness center had some treadmills, ellipticals, a couple of machines and free weights for an all around good workout. The workout room could have been a little larger, as 2 people using the weights would fill up the open space. I ate dinner in the onsite sports bar and found the portions to be large and the food to be good (although not great). I had breakfast at the main restaurant and did the buffet which was fantastic! The omelet bar was good and the lady who made them had a great sense of humor, even taking a little plate over to a friend and sing him happy birthday after I told her it was his 70th birthday. We asked the front desk for some good bbq, and they directed us to a nearby (a short bus ride) restaurant that proved to be great bbq. Booked last minute on a trip/passing through. It's always a gamble. Family visited pool/workout room then next morning found overpriced breakfast buffet so ordered from menu-staff couldn't get order correct but they were nice about it....EAT OUT is our recommendation.

Reserved king bed, none available. Front desk staff not helpful. Tons of high school kids for prom night. Not close to the best accomadations

Only bad thing I have to say is the whole hotel is non- smoking & wasn't told this until check in.

The rooms and the hotel had a very musty odor. Trouble with TV (55"LED) Volume - Did not work. Requested help and they did not resolve. Next room complained and had to turn the TV off. Won't stay here again.

The Sheraton is a very nice hotel. We visited on a very busy weekend. The only complaint that I had was the lack of hot water when taking a shower the following morning. Although, it may not have been an issue on a normal weekend.

EASY ACCESS TO MAJOR HIGHWAY AND DOWNTOWN. VERY, VERY PLEASED.

This hotel never has anyone at the front desk. The main restaurant is rarely open. The room service quality was poor. When I returned one item, it was not removed from the bill. I asked to have this done at checkout and had to be checked out by the concierge because there, again, was no one at the front desk. We pulled in at 3:30, gave the car to the valet, and didn't get behind the wheel again until the next morning. We ate dinner at the hotel cafe, went to a concert at the BJCC, and closed out the night at the hotel bar. Great peace of mind knowing that we could party and not worry about driving after. Only issues were that they had us in the wrong room […] (twin vs. king) when we first arrived, but it only took them a minute to straighten that out. Also, because we booked through hotels.com instead of the Sheraton's site, we couldn't charge our dinner or valet to our room. The iron in the room leaked water too. The hotel was really nice and convenient to the Convention Center (connected actually). Please be sure to try to breakfast buffet; it was by far one of the best!

Pleasant service in a well kept facility. Room was clean and quiet (16th floor). The Sheraton is conveniently located to the UAB medical facilities. I would return.

i went to a concert and the hotel was right across the street i enjoyed just walking to the concert and felt safe

We loved our stay at the Sheraton. the rooms were great. The beds were very comfortable. Everyone was very kind and helpful to us. we found our way around good. All in all our stay was great. needs updating

I was very disappointed at how unfriendly most of the staff at the hotel was (from the valet parking, restaurant clerks, to registration & discharge personnel). I felt like I was inconveniencing them. Once in my room I was shocked that there were partying people running up & down my hallways & yelling down the atrium much of the night. How could such […] a classy looking hotel allow such? At 1:30 am I finally could take no more & called the front desk. Security did take care of this, but I was disappointed that I had purposely stayed @ the Sheraton (for safety since I was traveling as a female alone) where my work conference was being held. The next morning during checkout, the lady behind the desk asked me if I had enjoyed my stay. I said, "Actually, I had a really bad night." I was stunned that she said, "Thank you, have a nice day!" Realizing I was not going to get anywhere w/ her, I decided to wait & call the manager on duty when I got back home to report my concerns. After leaving messages of concern a/b my stay w/ no return call, I decided the only way to help others prevent a bad situation was to post here. The lovely staff of this hotel property was extremely eager to help with each and every question and service we requested. Everyone was very polite and prompt. The amenities of the room itself were exquisite!

Very convenient location. Our room was not cleaned completely though. Previous guests trash was still in trash can.

Did not get the room I reserved. Made reservations a month in advance and was told the type of room I requested was not available once I arrived.

Great location, modern & clean, great customer service/hospitality, VERY comfortable beds, good shower. Only drawback was that our standard room (2 full beds) was a little on the small side. We had some friends staying in a "suite" with 2 beds, and the size was much nicer.
