All in all, you just cannot beat the price for the hotel's quality and location. 4 min walk to the train station, 10 min with luggage (2 suitcases, 1 carry-on, and a laptop bag). The hotel is only connected to the Magna Plaza (Mall), and when you walk outside, you are looking at the back of the Royal Palace, so you're literally a 30 second walk from […] Dam Square. Their breakfast buffet is excellent and even though most rooms do not include breakfast, they do have vouchers available for guests that allows a discounted from of 12.50e (down from 19.50e), for your entire stay if you'd like. This hotel is in an old Heineken brewery and is a nice building, however the hotel itself could use some updating. We arrived early evening and were given what we thought to be a dump of room. The room had a moldy smell, the window would'nt stay open unless you put a stick in the frame, and was beyond small. When we kindly asked the staff to move us […] to another room given the findings of our original room and the first front desk person refused to move us stating "they're all booked", and when i mentioned that this room was'nt acceptable another staff person kindly relocated us to a larger and better smelling room. The Die Port van Cleve Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Amsterdam. The location was perfect and the staff was very accomodating when an issue arose with our room. The only downside was the size of the room but that is typical for the Amsterdam area. I would highly suggest this hotel.

My first room was (almost) comically uncomfortable. Small, noisy, dimly lit (especially in bathroom), and poorly ventilated. The one window that could ventilate was a couple of feet from a brick wall and required that I stand on the desk to open it. It had defective hardware and required so much force to open and shut that several times I almost fell. […] At my request, the hotel moved me to a different room (without me asking what was wrong). I believe I paid the right price for the hotel, which was lower than what it usually charges. The hotel is really a 3 star. However it is a great location.

We loved the location and the staff at Die Port van Cleve. Our room was clean and comfortable. Room had some wear and tear on it, but very serviceable. We enjoyed our stay!

This hotel was way more than we expected. It is located on the border of Dam Square with so many things to do in the area as this is a popular square. no complaints whatsoever, maybe due a quick makeover but all in all had great location, decent service and very (too) comfortable room.

Promising since its location was excellent, 4* hotel with a nice looking reception. Unfortunately, the room was absolutely tiny. There were also only about five small lamp shades in the room, so even with all the lights on it still seemed dark. Average shower with minimum extras (soap/glasses/shampoo). Very disappointed.

this was a nice hotel at a great location but it felt like a really good 2 star then a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in amsterdam before at a cheaper price and it was a 3 star hotel which was great!

Needless to say I was very disappointed with this hotel. I had read some good reviews and thought it would be a nice 4* hotel but this was definitely not the case. We arrived at around 5.30pm to a very nice member of staff, the lobby looked beautiful and a nice staircase. We were given a keycard for room 309 so we got in the lift and went to the 3rd […] floor and found the room. The room was so small I couldn't believe it. There was just enough room to walk around the twin beds; there was a table and 1 chair shoved in the corner but not comfortable to sit at because it was squeezed in between a dressing table and 1 of the beds. The wardrobe was literally 1/4 the size of an average wardrobe. It could just about fit 5 wooden hangers. The TV was ok, not too big but a nice plasma on the wall. The bathroom was very small also; the shower was in the very tiny bath, I didn't mind using it but the shower curtain was absolutely disgusting so I refused to pull that across. Also, for paying for a 4* hotel you get no toiletries.. although there is some soap stuck to the wall. I was really not impressed with this hotel at all. I booked this hotel to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday and I was very disappointed.. I didn't mind the room as we were rarely in it but for the price I paid I would have expected a lot more.. this is an average 3* hotel - infact I have stayed in nicer 3* hotels. Perfect location, great historical value and quiet.

Our two week visit in Europe was to end in Amsterdam and I decided to stay in a little nicer room so I booked a suite with a King bed in the Die port Van Cleve. This booking gave us a room we could not believe. We were on the top floor in a corner room with views that were unbelievable. The room was very spacious with seating for 6 in the sitting area […] and a table with 6 chairs for dining. The bed was in a spacious area to the side almost not noticed from the living area. Although expensive the room seemed a bargain for the price. Staff and room - very nice. No problems at all. Very clean, and bathroom is well lit and large, w/nice deep tub. Free internet connection in room. Location is great. Walk from Central Station or take a cab for a short ride if you have allot of luggage.

This hotel was a bit below my expectations. The room was extremely small and the bathroom smelled like sewage. Even worse, the light seems to have some sort of timer on it, so don't be surprised if all of a sudden your shower goes dark! The front desk did not seem worried about our complaints, and even forgot our wake up call (missed my flight). The […] one good point about this hotel is that the location is great! Hotel was nice enough, room was acceptable. However, my stay was dotted with negative experiences. - We stayed in a smoking room, and on the first day apparently one cigarette was enough to cause the fire alarm to go off (silently mind you, so we didn't even realize). This led to a hotel staff member pounding on my locked door as I shouted "Just a […] minute!" and scrambled to get dressed after just having taken a shower. The staff member barged in without waiting for me to open the door, and I was barely able to cover myself with a towel. He then started yelling at me about not smoking, and opening the window (which was already open), and so on. Long story short, not a fun or seemingly acceptable experience, although its nice to know that the silent fire alarm at least has someone watching it in case it goes off. Maybe they could find a better place to put the smoke alarm than right over the bed as well. - There was no air conditioning, which was fine, but there was also no ceiling fan. We had a small portable fan that did not work. Upon reporting that it did not work, we were at least given a replacement fan that worked, and which was larger than the original broken fan. I was satisfied with that outcome. - There are no ice machines in this hotel (or vending machines, or mini-bars, or refrigerators). Apparently the only way to get ice is to call the restaurant downstairs and have them deliver it. Unfortunately, it is impossible to get in touch with the restaurant. When you push the button on the phone, it just rings and rings with no answer. I tried calling the receptionist first and having her transfer me, but that came to the same result. I called the receptionist a second time and she tried transferring me to a second number. Still no answer. I finally tried to just go downstairs and ask reception personally for ice. the hotel is located right in the middle of amsterdam, you can walk from central station to the hotel (10 min walk). hotel staff very friendly and helpful with any needs, hotel clean, but rooms small (only complaint) other than that I loved it. There's a bus stiop right in front of the hotel and a grocery store a minute walk away.

Alt i alt godt og anbefalelsesværdigt hotel, hvis man lægger vægt på at bo centralt og til en god, men ikke prangende standard. På den positive side: Hotellet er rigtig fint, omend lidt slidt. Godt værelse, rent og rummelig og godt badeværelse. Vi sov som en drøm! Det ligger super centralt, og det er derfor et godt udgangspunkt for at se byen. Venligt […] personale i receptionen. På den negative side: Morgenmad er ikke inkluderet og er meget dyr for standarden. Spis i stedet på morgenmadscafeer i nærheden. Tynde vinduer, som kan give lidt kulde og støj - det var dog ikke et problem for os. Rengøringspersonalet var ikke ret stabilt. Kvarteret/udsigt er ikke så hyggeligt - jeg vil anbefale at gå lidt væk fra centrum (i retning mod de ni gader) fremfor ind mod centrum. Et "rent og pent" hotell med flott beliggenhet i Amsterdam. Det eneste som trekker ned er at rommet var litt vel lite. Når det er sagt var dobbelsengen meget god å sove i, samt at badet var meget flott. Vi hadde også rom mot bakgården og dermed 0 støy :-). Ikke umulig at jeg velger dette hotellet ved mitt neste besøk.

Når der er mulighed for at lave te/kaffe på værelset, så bør der ikke kun være tebreve eller nescafe til en kop om dagen på et dobbeltværelse. En pære der går, bør personalet registrerer af sig selv samt udskifte. Byafgift på værelset burde være oplyst i forvejen for en god ordens skyld.

Fint hotell i det opprinnelige bygget til Heineken-bryggeriet. Trivelig bar og restaurant i 1. etg. Svært sentral beliggenhet - rett over gata til Dam-plass med gåavstand til alt av interesse. Supermarked også rett over gata (Albert Hejn). Rommet vårt hadde vindu mot bakgården så vi hadde ingen problemer med støy. Vet ikke hvordan dette er på forsiden, […] men det går vel en del trafikk forbi. Rommet var greit, stort nok. Badet var også rent og fint. Et par ting med rommet: Hotellet drev og renoverte ventilasjonssystemet så det var ikke air conditioning på rommet når vi var der. Men det var ikke noe problem å ha vinduet åpent for oss. Madrassen i sengen kunne vært litt bedre, men ikke noe krise - sov godt. Vårt rom hadde bare en stor dobbeldyne, men det var bare å be om ekstra dyne i resepsjonen. Mielestäni hotelli ei ole neljän tähden hotelli. Käytävät, varsinkin huoneet minimaalisen pieniä. Vain yksi hissi käytössä, toinen oli henkilökunnalle.

Vi bodde på hotellet i 3 netter og ble positivt overrasket over standarden på hotellet som vi på nettsiden hadde lest kunne være så-som-så. Behagelig seng, ok størrelse på rommet og badet. Rent og pent, godt vedlikeholdt. Hotellet har også en spennende historie og en koselig pub i første etasje. TV på rommet, men vi ble skuffet over at det ikke var […] minikjøleskap eller minibar... Ellers hyggelige folk i resepsjonen og lett å finne frem til serverdigheter fra hotellets beliggenhet. もっと読む

Hotellet ligger midt i centrum med gåafstand til ALT. vi tog ikke bus/sporvogn en eneste gang. Kan gå til banegården på få min, strøget hvor alle butikkerne ligger, er 30 sekunder fra hotellet. Morgenmaden er meget dyr på hotellet, og serviceniveauet er stille og roligt. Men alt i alt et godt hotel for pengene.

Et rigtig godt hotel, der pt. er ved at istandsætte nogle værelser. Det værelse vi havde var meget stort og lyst, der var noget støj fra gaden, men ikke meget. Det eneste minus var sengen, de var næsten som at ligge i en hængekøje, men det var også det eneste, man ville ændre. Et hotell som er veldig sentralt i Amsterdam. Nær sentrum og togstasjon, og uansett hvor man går så er det ikke langt unna å gå tilbake. Veldig tilfreds med alt på hotellet, ikke mye å klage på.

Trivdes veldig godt på hotellet, perfekt beliggenhet, hyggelig personal og fine rom!
