仕事で４泊しましたが、比較的部屋が広くてとても快適でした。周辺にコンビニが数店あり、スーパーマーケットも少し距離がありますが、歩いていける距離にあって利便性には優れていると思います。また仕事の空き時間に徒歩で周辺を散策しましたが、ガイドブックに載っているような名所のいくつかは徒歩で行くことができその点でも立地はよかったと思います。すぐ隣のノボテルとどちらに泊るか迷いましたが値段にあまり差がなかったのと、現地の用件先の方に勧められてこちらを選びました。大正解でした。

斜面に建つホテルで、車寄せは西側にあり、ロビーへ通じる。東側ラムトンキーに通じる通用口はロビー階から5階ほど下にあり、専用エレベーターで結ばれている。（客室へ行くエレベーターは別でセキュリティー設備あり。）通用口を利用すれば、観光、買物、飲食には非常に便利。ケーブルカー乗場、空港バス停も至近。日曜日に宿泊したが、近くにスーパーがあったので、サラダ、パン、ワインを買ってホテル室内で夕食を済ませた。ホテルの対応はビジネスライクだが問題なかった。

2010年宿泊し小4の子供からまた泊まりたいと要望され選択しました。何と言ってもロケーションが良い。テラス側からもラムトンキー側からもすぐにアクセスでき買い物・散歩に便利です。部屋は清潔、掃除も行き届いています。スタッフの対応も良かったです。

It was so enjoyable, thank you. We had had a very busy week with our grand children and my wife needed spoiling (so did I). We went to the watch the hurricanes which was only a short distance away and we did so much shopping my wallet is now only full of receipts. Thank you for the enjoyable relaxed get away, it was perfect.

Hotel accomadation was good, but was disapointed by the 15% surcharge on food and drink, because it was a holiday weekend. Also the extra charge incured when paying by credit card.

I would only recommend the James Cook if paying a cheap rate, I would be disappointed if i had paid full price. The smell of dampness in the corridor was off putting. Service was inconstant, but other wise good stay.

We as a family love it we will be staying there again

I stayed here for a few days while I was in Wellington and it was a great place. The people were great and very helpful. It was in a fairly convenient location to most major restaurants and streets.

The tele is not working properly and the telephone is not working too.Too long to wait to bring down our luggages from our room for checking out..Needs to pay the parking for the night. It should be free if u park on 1 day only.

We stayed 2 nights at the James Cook and it was great. Good sized room which was nice and clean, king bed which was great and very reasonable rates as we booked well in advance. Good location as you can get easy access to Lambton Quay for shopping and food. Would definitely recommend - will stay again.

Little far from central area but close to shopping mall , railway station . Service reasonable .

The hotel brings me the home feeling, friendly and helpful staffs. Located on the nicest street - lambton street, walking distance to everywhere. Nice breakfast with nice view. Spacious room also.Will live in this hotel for next time for sure.

recently we stayed there for 3 nights recently. Clean hotel with good quality furnishing. Convenient to everything, you can hop on (or off) the airport bus near its Lambton Quay entrance, a great saving on transportaion. Airport bus is only NZ$8.50 to or from airport per person. Hotel reception and conciergee are extremely helpful.

I would reccomend this hotel for price, quality and convienice.

This hotel is very well situated in the heart of the city and within walking distance of everything. The room was extremely comfortable and quite a reasonable size. We took advantage of the "Going Green" option, as we did not want to be disturbed at all, one day, and besides helping the environment, it was great not to have to move out of the room until […] we wanted to. Comfortable and clean hotel with good restaurant and bar. Service was good, only downside was very small gym with only a handful of machines.

We stay at the James Cook each year when in Wellington. This year the service was not as good. When we arrived at 3pm our rooms werent ready (check in is 2pm) as they had over allowed late checkouts for the previous guests. Our rooms werent ready till 4.30pm. This is poor management. Myself and my fiancé stayed here for four nights over the New Year period. Everything was very lovely. The first room that we were put into didn't have a window that opened so we requested to be moved to another one which wasn't a problem. The only thing that we were disappointed in was the hotel lobby cafe / bar (which is advertised) was never open. […] My fiancé enquired as to why this was and he was told that it didn't open any more. When we were looking for a hotel in Wellington, we wanted this kind of facility so we could head down to the lobby in the morning and have a coffee or a spot of lunch / snack. The weather was miserable when we visited so having this facility would have been very beneficial and would have saved us tramping around town in the rain to find a place for a casual coffee / snack. As it's an "older" hotel, non of the rooms have balcony's which was strange for us as every hotel we've stayed in, did. A very nice hotel over all and a great location - there is a lift from the hotel which brings you onto Lambton Quay - very very handy. I stayed at the James Cook for 2 nights and would definitely recommend this to my family and friends. The room was a great size and very clean. I also requested a quiet room as I arrived quite late and that was exactly what I got. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. This hotel was difficult for parking and seemed far from restaurants/activities etc.

As a birthday celebration for my wife, it was an ideal location, needing only a short taxi ride from the hotel to the show & back. Unfortunately, there was little time between dinner & having to leave & perhaps this gave insufficient time for the kitchen to prepare our fillet steaks, which although appearing to be excellent, proved to be very tough. […] However this was the only blot on which we both enjoyed an excellent stay, which we will recommend. もっと読む

Clean, tidy and comfortable, the only real negative for us was the room temperature which was too high and it took sometime to work out where to alter. Even then 18 degrees seemed the lowest and we found this a bit too hot and stuffy. The room was well appointed, I would prefer a shower and the step into bath was a bit odd. Great hotel to stay in Wellington so close to everything services was great and the staffs were very friendly . I will definetly stay in this hotel the next time I go to Wellington.

Really terrific location for sightseeing and easy walking distance to many places. Only negative is the lack of free WIFI/Internet. Doesn't make sense that the big hotels should charge extra for something that the smaller hotels provide free.

We were in Wellington for 2 nights and spent most of the time out of the hotel, but this was because they were so central. We walked everywhere from the access to Lambton Quay and Willis Street down Boulcott Street. Easy to find, get to and from and we were more than happy with our stay

The hotel was just there as we came off the motorway - no trouble in finding at all. Service on arrival was great and staff more than willing to help out with questions. Loved the piano bar and dining room - evening buffet a must! Room was clean, warm and cosy - no fault with accommodation at all.
