"Nice, But rooms need help"
The hotel was refinished in lobby area and restaurants, but not the rooms. The rooms are very dated and need a redo. The sliding door to small patio needs replacement , very old and hardly worked. Staff was very friendly .For what your paying and The Ritz Carlton name you expect more.

"The staff was wonderful!"
The concierge was outstanding. Every evening she went out of her way to help us. We were there on our 40th wedding anniversary and the amenities I had requested were not in the room when we arrived. We hadn't planned a night out and didn't know where to go. She not only found a classical music concert (that was my favorite singer!!) to a sold out performance, ordered our tickets for the Walt Disney Concert Hall and made sure my wife was surprised when we returned with the request I had made on line. I couldn't ask for more. The spa was nice but they didn't do what they had promised but the spa personnel who attended both my wife and myself, were fantastic! The front desk was excellent. Whenever we had a request or a comment, they took care of it immediately.

"Would recommend"
HVAC in the room was not very good. We had the air conditioning on MAX, but it was largely ineffective. We called engineering. Very nice chap came up to check it out. Apparently there was not much he could do. I believe this issue to be room specific. But I would mention this at the front desk upon check in

"Always a great experience"
I travel from Nj to the Riverside area once a year or so and ALWAYS stay at the Ritz at Marina Del Ray. This past weekend I completed business the same day I checked in so I cut my stay short by one night to fly home and be with my family. I checked out at 5am and the manager on duty asked if there was anything wrong or if they did something that would cause me to leave early. I explained no not at all I simply missed my family and business was done. The stay was great. First class cleanliness as expected at any Ritz. The bed was simply AMAZING! Best night sleep in months. Everything you could want was there and staff extremely nice. Great water view. This area is awesome to visit and if your there on Monday night take a stroll along the docks to the restraunt next door (cant remember name) for Monday night football and great food. Some people complain about the cost but come on its the freakin Ritz! You get what you pay for and if you want comfort, upscale atmosphere, great food etc. You will never go wrong. See you guys again soon! Thanks again!

"Not Worth the Money!"

Comfy bed and fantastic views but 601's walls are paper-thin and it's definitely not a non-smoking room. Room service and laundry v.g.; scrambles rubbery. Stick to the elegant ground level and gardens.

Expectation. Experience. These are the things ratings are made of. Like many things in Los Angeles the Ritz MDR felt like the pretend version. Clean and comfortable, yes. World class service and amenities, no. This is my second time staying in 2 years with similar results. Better to explore boutique hotels in the immediate area?

"Birthday weekend"
The staff was absolutely amazing. It was my first time in California as well as the Ritz Carlton and from the time we arrived until our last day it was a pleasure. The food was delicious and the view was gorgeous. I cannot wait to return. They really do treat you like royalty lol. And you never know what celebrity you might see FYI!

"Perfect to visit our daughter at LMU"
This was our second stay here. It's a very convenient location if you have a car (which is a necessity to get around LA). The pool/hot tub is a relaxing oasis. Very clean. Friendly, well trained staff. No complaints. Nice views of the marina.

"Terrible customer service"
We decided to pay the premium because of this hotel's reputation for customer service, boy were we wrong. The front desk lady was incredibly rude and it made our entire vacation stay a bitter experience.

"Exceptional service - an outstanding stay"
Stayed here in a club room and enjoyed the complementary refreshments and concierge service in the relaxing club lounge. The polite and friendly concierges ensure you are greeted and looked after, and the lounge is a great place to go for a morning coffee with breakfast or glass of wine before dinner. The room had a view of the marina and was cleaned every day, featuring soft robes and high end toiletries. Had dinner at the Cast & Plow restaurant, which was excellent, great steak and fries, fellow diners were a good mix of business people, couples and friends. For variety and if you don't want to drive, Killer Shrimp, Cafe del Rey,The Cheesecake Factory, Tony P's, Venice Beach and Abbot Kinney are all a short walk away.

"My favorite hotel has been turned into a bed hotel"
I have stayed here many times but this hotel is going down hill fast. No hot water, mini bars are gone, furniture old and damaged and stained. Dog hair and smell and food has gone really downhill!

"R&R with great food not far"
I've stayed in hotels with nicer rooms, bigger bathrooms, better pools, but this hotel was clean, had very comfortable beds, a fun view, and the service was great. The hotel is a five minute drive from Abbott Kinney street in Venice which has some very good restaurants and fun shopping.

Very satisfied with the visit. Front desk staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable about tourist options and very effective on taking care of minor business logistics. Pool & hot tub great. On a minor negative point: The breakfast terrace overlooking the marina is glorious, but I wasn't too impressed being offered unordered breakfast mimosas which turned our to be $15 each. These margin-boosting tricks are more consistent with a 3* budget hotel, but such actions don't seem very classy for a 5* operator like RC

"Absolutely Perfect!"
Second time I stayed in a Ritz Carlton and it was just as excellent as the first time. Over the top service - I mean better then anywhere else, luxururious, clean, friendly environment and staff. Awesome pool and huge outside hot-tube open 24/7, I mean who does that but Ritz. Great food, flexible and helpful with check-in and check-out. I run as exercise and was given directions to Venice beach and easily and fast got down there. Will definitly come back and recommend this hotel to anyone staying in LA.

We didn't know anything about the area or the hotel before we arrived. It was so comfortable at the hotel, we would have not minded spending all of our time there, but we traveled quite a distance. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and the cleanliness was remarkable!

"Hotel in a very nice location"
We stayed at this hotel 5 times before this visit so we think this is one of the best hotels in California. It located to some very good restaurants and to Hwy 90 which connects to all highways. It is always pleasant to go up the Pacific Coast Highway as the scenery through Malibu is great. Just south of the PCH on Hwy 101 is the Camarillo Outlet Mall which is the biggest I have ever seen. Going back to the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel is overpriced and the food is mediocre and there portions are microscopic. The rooms are not cleaned very well as the maids do not vacuum the carpets. The swimming pool at this visit was very dirty.

"High-3end Marriott, but no "Ritz""
Hotel lobby and facilities were nice and up-to-date; however, rooms were quite tired and small in comparison to other Ritz- Carlton's. The staff is welcoming and goes out of its way to accomodate you; however, we waited over 3 hours after arrival for our room even though we were told it would be an hour. The room we received was supposedly an upgrade, which was a lot smaller than the regular room type that the rest of our family had checked into.

"Convenient location for graduation at LMU"
The staff at this location was friendly, helpful and accomodating except the service in the restaraunt was extremely slow. The new trendy look does not fit with the traditional Ritz Carlton hotel. It seems as though so many hotels are buying in to the need to remodel the lobies with the 60's furnishing. I consider Ritz Carlton to be a traditional chain, with traditional service and European elegance....this hotel is trying to make a different statement with the modern decor. If you are looking for a traditional Ritz Carlton, you will find it in your room. The menu is short and is also trying to be trendy. There are only a few choices, so if staying for any period of time you will need to dine out to have variety in your food choices.

"Lap of Luxury, Gutter of Gouge"
The Ritz Carlton in Marina del Ray is a lovely hotel with a very attentive and pleasant staff. We booked this hotel as part of a package deal through Expedia so I do not know specifics about room rate. What I do know is this: All the extras left me feeling gouged! Parking was $40/day with no self-park option-valet only. Every time I used my car I had to tip the valet, easily another $10/day. I brought along my laptop to get some work done but decided against it once I learned the fee was $12.95/day. Even the business center charged for internet use by the minute. A glass of wine (the cheap stuff) costs $15/per glass. A bowl of oatmeal for breakfast cost $12, or in Ritzese "twelve." We also had numerous problems with our door lock not working properly. This eventually resulted in disassembly while we waited. At checkout, I reminded them of this and was offered a polite apology, nothing more.

"Nice but"
Hardened soap residue in shower soap tray. Bed was disheveled. And my room was above the front smoking area. Even though I was on the seventh floor I was inundated with smoke throughout the night and woke up coughing.

We were fortunate to be upgraded to the club lounge with concierge, breakfast, lunch, canapés and cocktails which made it even better still. Great stay. Really relaxing. Nothing too much trouble. Around half hour walk to Venice Beach. Will definitely return.

"Beautiful Stay"
Hotel was cold and too breezy , which I thought was odd for California and we had to layer up to be comfortable in the main areas My room was beautiful and quiet, the only thing that didn't work was the espresso maker. Room service was prompt and responded with urgency to any requests. Recommend bringing your own hairdryer, theirs was too cool to work well . Food and drinks were well presented and delicious, hotel staff were very attentive and accommodating, which enhanced my experience greatly. The hotel is beautiful and elegant, my experience overall was one of luxe comfort!

"Excellent hotel, great views, staff, and service."
Stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved the experience. The entire staff was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. The bartenders at the hotel bar Cast and Plow were outstanding, especially Seth. The entire hotel is beautiful, from the common areas to the rooms.

It was a pleasure to stay at The Ritz Carlton hotel. Beautiful place with comfortable rooms and outdoor space to relax or walk along the marina. Nice size pool, tennis and basketball courts allow for sport activities. The staff personnel was very respectful and ready to assist at any time.

"Very expensive, but not so Ritzie..."
The Ritz Carlton is of course a great hotel, however, I feel like the amenities don't match the cost of the hotel. I don't mind paying "extra" but in return I want "extra". You wont regret staying there because it is a nice place, but you may leave wondering why you paid as much as you did for what you got. If you dine in the hotel restaurant, prepare to be disappointed... And the only reason I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because I think you could stay at the Marriott, pay less, and get the same amenities.

"Overall great hotel"
Very pleasant and helpful staff for the most part. Not worth staying on Club level because we did not hang around the hotel all day. Also, it is a white collar snobby atmosphere on Club level where the staff have to be slaves to any request that guests want. Our room was maintained well as it was even vacuumed which is rare at most hotels. The reception people were very good as usual. The valet service was not up to parr as they gave our car to someone else and gave us vouchers that were only good for the initial ride out but not back. HOwever, they did wave out valet and internet fees and gave us a $250 credit. The food at the hotel has improved, but I wish they would be more honest about the choices. They mentioned the Halibut is the favourite when the steak was the real favourite meal. We thought they wanted to move the halibut which was not selling too well. Overall, this visit was not as great as my previous visits but we will come back again.

"Horrible Hotel"
Construction right outside our window made our stay miserable. Pile drivers were operating for hours which eventually gave me a migraine. I rarely get migraines, but this extremely loud repetitive noise did it. We heard this morning and until 6 pm in the evening. The only saving grace was the fact that we were out of the hotel a good part of our stay. The construction is no where near being completed. We complained about the noise, as did several other customers. Our room was changed to a location further from the construction. The room was awful! It had a stained sink, a clogged tub and it was much smaller than the room size we paid for.

However, I am very sorry that the construction noise disrupted your stay and that the second room you moved to did not fulfill your expectations. Please know that in 2015, we are planning for a complete renovation of our guest rooms and I think you will be pleased with the result. Unfortunately, the construction noise in the marina is completely out of the hotel’s control. The marina renovation is a Los Angeles County project and their work hours are firm; we have complained regarding the noise levels to no avail. Our only consolation is that the project will be moving to docks that are further away and the noise will be minimal. I hope that you will accept my sincerest apologies for not providing you with a true Ritz-Carlton experience. "Great Hotel"
My girlfriend and I came from Texas on Valentines Day to stay at The Ritz-Carlton. The hotel was breath taking very clean courteous staff and wonderful view of the city and ocean. Our first time experience staying at The Ritz-Carlton was a memory we will not forget.
