Everything you need in one place. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel was listed as kid friendly, however, I would reword as kid tolerant.

My wife and I were very pleased to visit the Marriott after 5-6 years since our last visit. Everything was very nice but we do have a couple suggestions to make it even better. I work while away from home and the room safe was the smallest I have ever seen-I do not feel comfortable leaving a lap top in the room un-secured. Also, the safe that was there, […] as small as it was, could be easily forced open with a screwdriver or butter knife. The balcony view from the room was of the tops of the lower levels and disappointing and of no use. Who wants to look at the roof? When we checked in, there was only one person taking care of checking in and the line was very long. It took about 20 min. to check in. We enjoyed a very nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, there were plenty of towels and amenities, the housekeeping staff came daily with out "drama", as I have experienced at other hotels. This hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway with the kids! We actually booked four rooms because between myself and my siblings' families, we had a total of 8 kids and 7 adults. Room service was sooo fast and courteous! They quoted us a 35 min wait for breakfast one morning and were at our door in 10 minutes! Then they gave us a quote of 50 minutes […] one night for late-night desserts, but were there in 15 minutes! The hotel also had a wonderful Easter event complete with a parachuting Easter Bunny onto the front lawn covered in thousands of Easter eggs! Lakeview Terrace had delicious buffets for breakfast and dinner (dined there twice, table for 15), and the pools were perfect for both kids and adults, with servers bringing food and drinks whenever we needed. All in all, we were so tempted to stay an extra night, but I think the kids already had too much sun in just two days. We arrived on a Friday night before Easter Sunday. There were only two check-in representatives (besides the Premier line) even though there were a lot of check-ins so we had to wait a long time. In addition, there was a leak (read stream of water) coming from somewhere above into the lobby by the check-in counter. We literally needed to follow a map […] to get to our room since we had to go outside to get to it. We had to carry our luggage in-between outside dining tables next to one of the restaurants -I'm sure the eaters loved it. The room was shabby - beat up furniture. The hotel is beautiful and we loved the 5 pools! However,there are several things that we were disappointed with: 1. We stayed in a room that is located on the 4th floor and the entrance to our room was on the main lobby side. It was very noisy! We couldn't even fall asleep. The cathedral lobby ceiling accentuates the noise of every glass from the bar […] clanging, every person laughing and the lobby music is way too loud (played until midnight we found out). If you have children, don't stay in that section at all! 2. The in room dining service was not what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. The Don't order the fries for the kids, they are gross! 3. The elevator in the back of the hotel, where one could access the kids pool, was very dirty. It was filthy! We had to take that elevator several times a day and we couldn't believe the housekeeping wouldn't clean it, especially after I called and mentioned the dirtiness of it. 4. The hotel has a lot of wild birds living around. The geese live right by the kids pool and they were very noisy! This was another noisy experience! Over all, the JW Marriott in Palm Desert is a beautiful hotel, but very noisy and there is wild bird poop everywhere. The service and housekeeping is ok. Hands down the worst hotel experience of my life. We did a couples getaway for simply one day and night expecting to have an awesome time, yet we spent the large majority of our time frustrated and bitter at the horrible customer service; we were literally counting the number of people that were nice to us verses rude. TWO people were polite! When we […] first arrived to our hotel they had a room available yet suggested that if we wait a hour or so, a better room with a better view would be ready. We waited by the pool for two and a half hours until we finally called. A person by the name of "Bill" was the most rude person I have ever spoken to who works in the customer service industry! I got so frustrated I walked from the pool to front desk and spoke with a girl by the name of Heather. Heather was actually one of the few nice people. She apologized for her co-workers attitude and promptly got us our room. At this point in time, all negative feelings were gone and we were ready to have a good time. However, when we entered our room another thing was wrong. We requested a rollout bed; there was none to be seen. We called the front desk and asked for one to be sent up. After waiting a half hour we inquired to see when the bed would arrive so we could get along with our day, since we are only here for such a short period. The front desk must have forgot because it took ANOTHER half hour for it to arrive. So far not a good start but we figured we would give it another chance. We decided to stop down at the lobby bar prior to dinner for a drink or two. A few of us bartend in downtown San Diego, we know how to make drinks and we know how to tip; the bartenders act like they bartend at a club downtown and don't have to give you the time of day. They are rude taking your order and a little FYI, mojito's are supposed to be muddled, not poked with a straw twice. Horrific drinks with crappy service. Couldn't have picked a more wonderful get away location. I've never been displeased with any J.W. I've ever stayed at. The staff all around were great with no exception. The grounds are beautiful. Their spa was Class A and their onsite restaurant (Mikado in particular) were great and a fun dining experience. The facilities and staff were wonderful but there was a loud party down the hall that spilled out into the parking lot at 2 am. We did complain and the staff waived our resort fee, but someone should have been out there when the noise was happening asking everyone to be more quiet.

our stay was amazing. the hotel was beautiful and relaxing. The pool was fun and the staff was so nice!

After purchasing beverage from pool bar, it was 105 degrees so I didn't want the ice to melt. The rude pool security guard came to my area and told me that I have to remove my personal insullated mug and poor my purchased beverage back the original glass. Was left with no towles after dirty ones were removed. Had to carry my own bags down to the vallet […] after waiting 15 minutes for someone to come up. WE MADE A LAST MIN RESERVATION,IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND GET PAMPERED,EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND COMFERTABLE,THE POOLS ,THE SPA,CAN'T SAY A BAD WORD. MY WIFE AND I HAVE NOT RELAXED AND ENJOYED OUR SELFS LIKE THIS IN A LONG TIME. WE WILL BE BACK SOON.

Very dissapointed and offended with the security staff of this specific hotel. Staff was very rude and careless. Other staff like pool crew and cleaning staff were very cordial, nice and helpfull.

Hotel is very nice but looking a bit "dated". My wife and I stayed on an "Endless Summer Package". This included breakfast each day as well as a hotel credit. A very beneficial package. Guests were mainly "foreign" and very discourteous. Our room was not in the main hotel but located in an addition. Location was a long distance from the restaurants […] and a bit difficult to reach. Suggest staying in the main hotel if possible. The only objection we had was this "Resort Charge" of $25. per day I suggest including in room rate. I enjoyed everything about this resort, especially the sushi in the lunge area. The staff in all areas of the resort were friendly and courteous.

The beautiful lobby , the relaxing music, friendly staff ,the sound of water & the nice aroma of coffee was lovely.

Great Service and Great Facilities... Would recommend this to anyone looking for a resort in the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area...

We stayed on Aug. 22 and 23rd. We liked it and it was very nice and beautiful but my son left his shirt in his room and we called immidiately and asked them to check the balcony but couldn't be found. I was a little disappointed.

We went for a girls weekend and the party atmosphere by the pool was fun. Would not bri g children during the weekend though. Staff very friendly and room was nice.

Had a great 3 day stay at this resort. The cleanliness of the swimming pools and not to mention the great service and attention we received from the staff at the swimming pool (namely David) was great. He was very accomodating and extremely attentive. He took the time to speak to you as a real person and not just any old guest. The resort itself is […] very nice and we loved spending time either miniature golfing, taking the sunset boat ride, eating dinner at Mikado or just hanging out in the lobby enjoying a drink. The only drawback is that we originally reserved 2 connecting rooms, one with a king bed and the other with 2 beds. Upon check-in our reservation could not be accomodated. We ended up with 2 rooms, each with a king bed and the rooms were 3 doors apart. This was not the most convenient or comforting arrangement since we were traveling with our 4 children. We were located on the farther end of the hotel where the room doors open to an outdoor and not an indoor hallway. Didn't make for the easiest peace of mind. 1) When we booked, I asked 3 different ways if there was a resort fee. They said NO three different ways and of course, we were forced to pay a RESORT FEE upon arrival. Bad Start to say the least. 2) In our documented e-mail confirmation for the room, it clearly says every room has a DVD player. Of course, there was no DVD player and the hotel management […] told me I was wrong when I have documented proof that the room description says every room will have a DVD player. We brought our own DVD's for our young girls to settle down at night and that planned was ruined. 3) Hotel management offered us ice cream instead of a DVD player after we all just ate. I said no thanks but a free facial for my wife in the spa the next morning would be nice. They said they would call me back with an answer but management never called and never followed up. I purchased the sports package. Hotel room and unlimited golf for two. It was a great day. The resort has two championship courses. (one was closed for renovations) We played the Valley course twice 6:30 am tee time. Lunch. Back to the room for a shower. Check-out (late check-out was 2:00pm) and then played the second round (teed off at 1:00pm.

Large resort hotel in lovely surroundings. Great value for what you get. Staff beyond reproach. Not the most up to date decor in the rooms and not sure how successful the restaurants are as they seemed a bit down-at-heel; we chose to eat out nearby. The bar area is excellent and there is also an in-house Starbucks for the unimaginative! Great pool […] areas - very relaxing - and superb tennis and golf facilities. Try to avoid the hard-selling resort sales person near the front door though - if you don't want to be sold a timeshare!! They should have airport service available

The location was beautiful, but overall this place was not maintained well. I saw dead bugs in room carpet and the lake water was so dirty. The swimming pool water was dirty too. The towels used in the pool area were so old.

WE WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

Overall a positive experience. My only complaint would be that no food is served on the premises past 11PM (other than room service). This curfew applies even on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you get hungry late at night and don't feel like eating in your room and paying high room service prices, you are forced to venture out.

Great Hotel . Nice location. Nice family pool. Great staff. Two thumbs up!!

The resort was nice, but the women wanted to go shopping which was about 30 miles away at Cabazon. It was really hot when we stayed and the room A/C barely kept up. I think it was 112 F degree outside. The pools were good and the kids enjoyed swimming. The restaurants on-site were good but a little pricey. There was an unexpected $25 per night per room […] resort fee. Valet parking was extra on top of the resort fee. Stay away from the ducks - do not let your kids try and pet them. At first I was impressed by the grandeur of the hotel, but I soon discovered that the design and beauty of the hotel was quickly overshadowed by the poor and utterly disappointing management. A relaxing weekend with my girlfriend for my birthday was abruptly interrupted by an incident of erroneous allegations, those which ultimately led to an immediate […] eviction. What I found most disappointing is that had we not been in the room at the time, the hotel management was ready to raid our room. Fortunately, we were in the room at the time they entered. Nevertheless, my girlfriend and I were still horrified by their attempt. When we tried to talk with them to better understand the nature of the complaint, they were recalcitrant to listening to their customers. the only thing that wqas troubling was inadequate parking and a fee of about $25 a day even for self park

Overall enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The pools were nice, except the lousy rock music blasting. The food in the hotel was nothing special. They tried to slap me with an additional resort charge which was ridiculous, but when I got the final bill it was a 1/3 of what they had mentioned at the desk.

We have stayed here before and each time we have a great time - the ease of checking in and out is great - the pool area and restaurants are fantastic! They could not have been any kinder and they accommodated our needs and special request with a sense of urgency and a sincere smile. We slept great! Comfy beds for sure. The JW Marriott was excellent. We went for a mini family vacation. Our boys loved the boat rides and family pool. The hotel has so much to offer. The staff and service was fantastic. A housekeeper gave my 4 year old a dollar just passing by which made his day. The sushi bar didn't make us pay because THEY thought they took too long on the order. pricing was more in line this week day than the prior week . almost 40% less. It was a solid experience and good service.
