ホテル カールトン (Hotel Carlton)

This hotel is conveniently located in the city center. Walking distance to the Guggenheim Museum and the subway is practically outside the front entrance. We stayed at two different rooms at two separate stays. They were both very nice. We had spacious rooms and nice furnishings. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The Carlton is a superb, last-generation luxury hotel that is perfectly maintained, with an excellent service-oriented staff. I'd stay there again. It is within easy walking distance of the Gugenheim and many other museums for which Bilbao is known

It was excellent. The food in hotel dining room for dinner was quite good and the service was very nice. However, you could make the lighting much more appealing with softer lights and some candles.

Very good welcome but could not tell me were i could buy an english newspaper. We had a newly decorated room which was nice with very good toiletries. Bed was to hard for me. The hotel had charm.

The only bad thing I can say is that my room lacked good ventilation otherwise the hotel was great. The staff were kind attentive and extremely helpful. The hotel is also in a great location for either sightseeing or shopping.

Location was superb - bus to airport across small street - cost was less than 3 Euro for two people vs. 30 Euro cab fare. Hotel staff were helpful and knowledgeable with all questions. Would definitely stay again in the beautiful and charming city.

Fantastic room with a MONSTER king-sized bed. Staff very friendly and helpful, all of them spoke English (apart from the chap in the parking garage, but the two of us managed). Parking is a bit limited and pricey. Excellent central position, 30 metres from a metro station linking you to the old town, and a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim.

The staff were wonderful, very helpful and cheerful. The hotel is perfectly situated. And our room was very nice. Very comfortable. Surprisingly comfortable bed. There must be amazing insulation in the widows. The room was facing the central square with traffic swirling. Yet so quiet in the room. I recommend the hotel highly.

Great location, friendly staff that spoke English. We were given a handicap room (not that it was requested or needed) that was large and clean. The only downside was that it had an "inside" view toward the courtyard & dome over the lounge area, rather than a street view. We stayed in a totally refurbished room, which was exactly as on the pictures. Large bedroom, fancy decor, large bathroom. However, the room was not cosy - it was very glitsy and very luxurious, but lacked coziness. The common areas of the hotel are grand, but not very new. The windows are not very tight so you hear a little street noise (not a problem, but shouldn't be like that in a 5 star hotel). Also, you can easily hear conversations in the hallway. Beautiful hotel in a great area of the city. Only a few blocks away from all of the museums. I couldn't believe the price of the hotel given how nice it was, especially compared to hotel prices and quality in the US.

The hotel is in th emost convenient location. Also airpoirt bus stop right outside to/from the airport for only 1.35 euro. Three blocks from the guugenheim. Ten mionute walk to the old town. The hotel itself is antique looking. It feels like its been there for over a hiundred years but it is well maintained.
