Comfortable, clean friendly, only small negative we had to pay $5 for parking - i don't recall seeing this on the website but it was only $5 so not a bit deal. Walk to the University

Friendly staff, good restaurant. Convenient location in an old restored train station.

We stayed two nights at the Radisson Lackawanna Station and we were very impressed. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel is a converted train station from the early 1900's so the layout is a bit unorthodox but that honestly is part of it's charm. If we are back in Scranton we will stay there again.

Hotel entrance was great, room was disappointing. Old heating system and funky smelling. Bed was comfy though. Not much life in the hotel. I think I was one of about 6 people staying there. And they charge you for parking in an open parking lot that anyone from the public can park in for free!! IN SCRANTON! Go figure....

The hotel (a converted train station built at the turn of the century) is a masterpiece. The lobby with marble and granite is elegant and a piece of history. Hotel pictures online are very misleading. Rooms appear much larger then they are. We were given a king room for 2 adults & a child with no cot/pullout for the child to sleep in. Normally there is a nightly charge for a cot; it was waived because we complained. When we pointed out the problems front desk staff blamed Hotels.com for misrepresenting the […] room. Over all the Radisson in Scranton, PA was okay but not a place where I would stay again. To begin, my room was dirty; there was dust all over the furniture and the desk had greasy spots from the last occupants meals and/or snacks. As for the location, I would say that if you did not want to drive to a restaurant, you were left with either the hotel […] or the Irish Pub across the street. This historic hotel was beautifully decorated from Christmas. I have stayed here before when visiting family and the location is very convenient.

Very comfortable. Great location to downtown Scranton. Beautiful and memorable. Good food on bar. But need tea bags on room not just coffee. Don't forget about is tea drinkers.

front deck staff were nasty and confrontational. front deck manager set the tone and made it clear that things were my fault.

We booked a two-bed room.....upon arrival we were given a one-bed room...for three people. We were told since we booked at Hotels.com we were not guaranteed the room we booked. I booked this hotel spare of the moment traveling through on my way home to Texas from Vermont. It was a great value. I really like the renovated hotel. I had the best prime rib sandwich at the bar & it was reasonable price. Great service from the staff. Local shopping within walking distance.

Really needs update. Worn n old decor in rooms. Very musty smell. Old mattress standing outside room on top floor. I would stay elsewhere in future especially for price. Mediocre at best

Beautiful building, beautiful room. Very comfortable - but miss having fridge/microwave in room. Very clean except for windows/sills. Love the marble in huge bathroom. Love the 3 floor to ceiling windows. Food very good - 2 good restaurants on site and other close by.

Well 1st let me start off by saying I’m trying to be fare, because I am VERY particular about where I eat & sleep!! I purchased my room online through Hotels.com, which I like. When checking in at the front desk I was informed that I would have to leave a deposit of $50.00 which was not listed on my itinerary, However I gave the deposit because I do […] know that most Hotels will inform you up front of their fees (this one doesn’t!!) On the way to the room the hallway and elevators are clean, Once In the room I was completely upset and disgusted about how filthy the room was!! The bedding was dirty; it actually looked as if someone was standing on the sheets with work boots on!! The furniture was dusty, and the Drapes & chairs had more food & food stains on them then my kitchen table after my kids have had a full course meal!! Per my call to the front desk they were very understanding and apologetic about the situation and offered to change my room. After being moved to a cleaner room I decided to go out on the town, when I returned back to the hotel, there was a function going on, I’m assuming because of the crowd of people and loud music And most annoyingly the fact that I had to drive around the hotel parking lot to find a place to park, which I finally found after ten minutes of sitting and waiting for someone to pull out of a spot so that I can pull in!!! Made it back to my room and I must say I did have a good nights rest in spite of all the loud music, BUT the icing on the cake came when I opened the door and on the floor was a bill a small bill But a BILL non the less $5.50 for parking (THE NERVE!!!!!!!!!!) of course I’m upset I was never told about a parking fee NOT to mention that I had to drive around for 10 minutes to find parking!!! Everything was great except for the breakfast which was very mediocre.

This hotel is gorgeous! Was definitely an integral piece of our SteamTown & Coal Mine experience!

Nice and easy accessible, be a ware they charge for regular Parking lot

Lackawanna Hotel is historical so the room are old but quaint. The area is quite depressed so the hotel does not seem to have much in the way of revenues. The room was very nosy both from hallway noise and traffic outside the window. The restaurant in the hotel lobby was not very good for breakfast. The avacados in the breakfast sandwich were old and […] had turned black. Everything tasted like old grease and I could only imagine the grime on the grill as I ate. We also ate one evening in the rear bar restaurant. We had appetizers only and the sliders were decent. The blackened fish bites were very dry.The location is downtown and near the airport. The Radisson hotel was nice, our only problem was the bed & bath room is too small. Only one person at a time can fit inside the bathroom. The queen bed look more like a twin, apart from that everything was ok. Also parking is not free.

I've known Radisson to be very good at rehabbing old hotels and buildings. They did a nice job on this one also, except for some critical minor details: 1. No waste can at the hotel entrance. Kind of awkward to be walking into the magnificent lobby of this hotel with your road garbage in hand because there was no waste can at the entrance. BTW, ashtrays […] don't count. 2. Bathtubs unsafe - no mats or traction enhancement on the floor, and the vinyl-lined tubs can be slippy. 3. Only one person on desk duty during the early evening check-in time. A line formed as a result. Not what I'd expect from a major hotel chain. 4. Not only am I paying for breakfast, they are overcharging. Guess I'm a bit spoiled by the competition. On the other hand, they did a really nice job on the lobby (restored train station). As railroad buff, this went a long way toward offsetting the "little things." もっと読む

Most hotels go out of their way to please guests these days. Not this one! Receptionist was rude. We got in late after a long trip. She seemed bothered to be helping us. We needed a rollaway bed. There were three people and only a double bed. She said there were no rollaways available. I asked for sheets so my son could sleep on the floor. She said […] there was no one to bring them up. I told her I would send my son down to get them. Finally, a rollaway bed appeared. The room was a smokers room. We don't smoke. That was awful. We opened the window-no screens. Still awful. She said there were no other rooms. I still don't believe her. This was the worst hotel I have stayed in ever. The parking was awful too, and I had my handicapped child with me. I will say that the door man was kind and helpful. I had been to the hotel for brunch with a friend. It looked pretty. But, clearly their main business is brunch, parties and weddings. A shame. It has character. With all the people looking for work, it seems there must be someone better than that woman on the night shift. She is worse than pathetic. No swimming pool; the Hilton, right next door, does. They took out the pool and put up a carport. Such a shame. And they never used to charge for parking. Now, they do.

The hotel Radison Lackawanna, is a historical building, and very well kept up. It is in downtown Scranton, close to the college district and in a good part of town. There is a shopping mall with in walking distance and many restaurants in the area.

Beautiful hotel, very convenient, friendly and helpful staff

The hotel was great, our only complaints were lack of air conditioning (thermostat on 60 degrees but didn't cool well), suite was not as big as expected and thought it included a microwave. But our stay was great otherwise and we would return.

Great hotel - The hotel has beautiful, old architecture. Very interesting. Staff was very friendly and "aimed to please". Be careful in the lounge - was overcharged and when I pointed this out, I was told I was wrong! So - the overcharge was his tip! Great Location - lots of places within walking distance. Would certainly stay there again.

Being a lover of architectual history, this hotel is the only place I would stay in Scranton, PA

Upon arrival, I realized I had accidently booked the hotel for the following night. They were very kind and quickly accommodated us to change the reservation. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. We really enjoyed the historic nature of the hotel and found it to be really different and well-kept. I would definitely stay there again!

We stay at the Radisson whenever we can when we com e to Scranton. We love the idea that it was once an elegant railway station. Beautiful building. We often have the brunch at Carmen's The rooms are kept in very good condition. Good city views from many of the windows. You can walk to anywhere downtown. Feels luxurious
