Booked two nights and prepaid via Expedia. My wife and I arrived in early afternoon and found there to be (1) no restaurant, (2) no fitness center, and (3) no swimming accommodations, as it was outdoor. Additonally, casual dining was several miles away. I was very disappointed with this hotel. The picture they show is not the actual hotel and there is no restaurant on the premises. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again. Hotel was located close to the event I was attending. Staff gave very useful directions to event location, places to eat, and best ways to get back to major highways.

I thought it was extremely terrible all around. Large tiles missing in the ceiling in the bathroom with pipes exposed. Dirty countertops and shower. Room smelt like BO and the front desk workers had terrible customer service skills and poor communication skills. I had reserved our room six to eight weeks in advance. Stong odor of cigarette smoke, dirty bathroom, towels had insulation on them from the bathroom ceiling. Curtains did not close properly. TV remote did not have batteries. when we finally got a new remote we had to program it ourselves and it still did not change the channels. My daughter and I saw this place and immediately didnt want to stay but had no other choice. The receptionist was a foreigner whom I couldn't understand. Like downtown Abilene, The Rodeway Inn has seen better days; it's a rough around the edges. First of all, I want readers to know my room was o.k., bearing in mind I'm a business traveler who spends little time in the room, aside from sleeping, showering and off to my work at a very early hour in the morning. It was kept clean while I was there. Next, […] to my 1st concern: my room was on the 1st floor, near Pine Street. The mercury vapor security lights were not on when I left in the morning, so I stepped out of my room into darkness. Luckily, my car was right outside the door so I could hit the remote to turn on the car's lights. The hot water never got beyond lukewarm. The framing for the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were moldy and rusty. The fitness center - featured in the on-line pictures taken a very long time ago - is inoperative. Finally - the 'free breakfast' - is a real letdown unless you''re into cold cereal and weak coffee served in sytrofoam. If any of what I observed is important to you, stay elsewhere. If you're looking for just a place to crash, the Rodeway will do. All I know is that I wouldn't want my wife or daughter walking out into a black parking lot at 5:30 AM like I did. I stayed in the hotel earlier this week. I would not recommend it to anyone. The one saving grace was that it was VERY close to where I needed to go the next morning. The people were very nice but need some coaching in provision of good customer service. A light bulb was burned out and instead of bringing one, he asked IF he should bring one. Hello?! […] Bring a light bulb and replace it. It was 10 pm and the room was dark and I had to stumble through the room to find a light to turn on when I first got there. The bathroom was filthy. The tub had been repainted and the paint was peeling off and nasty looking. There was a non-slip mat in the bottom that had dirty stuck in all of the nooks and crannies. I wore my sandals in the shower it was so dirty. The commode was black under the rim. There was urine on the outside of the bottom of the commode. There was dirt, hair, and other dirty on the floor and wall behind the commode. The bathtub stopper was on the floor behind the commode. If I would have had Lysol and Comet and gloves with me, I would have cleaned the bathroom before using it. I ran plain water through the coffee maker basket the first time because I wanted to make sure it was going to work. Thank goodness I did because the water did not flow THROUGH the basket. Instead, the water ran over the top because the coffee pot did not fit the coffee maker and the spring-loaded mechanism on the bottom of the basket was not engaged. To get coffee, I had to stand there and hold the coffee pot up to press on the bottom of the basket so the water would run through. Also, the breakfast was not served until 7 a.m. That did not leave me enough time to eat there and then make it to my appointment by 7:30 a.m. I had to turn the tv on and off and adjust the volume by getting up and pushing puttons on the tv. I remember the day when we HAD to do this, but, really people, get with the program and update your technology. At 10:30 pm i decided to use the soda machine. There was a sig もっと読む
