空港からも近く、タクシーで15ドル程度、乗り継ぎのための一泊には最適です。晩に着いて、翌朝に出発するだけでしたが、しばらく滞在するには車が必要です。周りにはコンビニぐらいしかなく、交通手段は何もないと思います。空港までのシャトルもありません。部屋は広くて清潔ですが、エアコンの調子がおかしいのか暑かったです。

oldtownと言っても駅はbraddockが最寄りで、歩くにはちょっと遠くtaxiで7、8ドルでした。30分ごとにnationalairportに無料シャトルが出ているので、時間があればそれを利用するのもいいと思います。部屋は清潔感があり十分でした。近くに朝からやっているdeliがあり、便利です。そこと同じオーナーのthaiレストランも近く、美味しかったです。ホテルの中のレストランは対応が悪くおすすめしません。

Reading the other reviews on hotels.com definitely helped us maximize our stay at Hotel Rouge. E.g. we steered clear of the expensive bar and breakfast buffet and I was prepared for the $100 credit card hold (I think the concierge actually might've said it was $100 *per night* but I haven't checked my statement yet). One thing I would say that I was […] displeased about had to do with parking: once again, I was expecting the outrageous valet rates because of having read reviews beforehand. A couple of days before our stay, I called and asked about alternative parking options. I was told that there is street parking around the hotel but it's hard to come by and there are 2-hour limits on all street spots. It's probably true that finding a spot could've been dicey; however, the information about the 2-hour limits was very misleading. In the neighborhood surrounding the Hotel Rouge, the 2-hour limit on street parking only applies M-F, 8:30-4:30. We were staying on a weekend so that information was completely inapplicable to us. As it happens, we still won the parking war by driving to a Metro station in Maryland, parking there, and taking the Metro to Dupont Circle (it cost us $4.75 to park for the whole weekend) but I definitely felt a little lied to about the street parking situation. This hotel was nice; however, the second night we were there young people were drunk and fighting right outside our door at 2:30am. It took at least 40 minutes for the noise to finally die down. "Excellent Hotel Stay! Convenience in downtown DC!"
The hotel is very nice! The decor is excellent and it is convenient to everything! Front Desk Staff was friendly and very accommodating. It's close to many fine restaurants and the parking was cheaper than most of the other hotels in DC. The only thing we did not like is there is no free wi-fi. The cost is $10 per day. I think it should be included […] in the total cost of your stay. We also didn't like the fact that they will hold a $100 deposit on your credit card for 'incidentals'. My husband and I chose this hotel on a whim. I liked the red theme of the hotel, and we laughed about the animal print robes in the description. "Fun Place to stay - Hotel Rouge"
Nice hotel, spacious rooms, helpful staff. The decor is "bordello chic", so if you don't like red you should stay elsewhere. Restaurant/bar has a good but limited menu.
"Beautiful Hotel"
The hotel is really nice, and in a great convenient location, and the front desk staff was always polite and greeted me each time and I entered or exited. Parking is (as at every hotel in DC) overpriced and they only offer valet, a pet peeve of mine.

Location was good. It had a boutique feel. The staff were responsive. The room were standard but the bathroom left more to be desired. The restaurant was decent with good food. Overal an okay experience.

I'd been looking forward to staying here for NYE, but the chic factor was overhyped. Front desk was friendly, but service was definitely not their number one concern. "Awesome, but minibar driven"
The only downside to this hotel is that they want you to use the minibar and do not give the standard free coffee that you see in hotels now a days. The fridge is also only a minibar. If suites are large and the look is modern. The staff is great and helpful! Also since it is a pet hotel I would recommend if you have pet allergies.

"Close enough to main attractions"
Decent hotel, close to main attractions. Cheap enough considering other hotels on offer. Food, especially room service. If the hosted wine reception its the selling point you will be disappointed, think red and white wine you might cook with or use to degrease an engine. "Nice find"
Rouge was very nice. Beds were comfy, room was big enough. Pillows were a bit small. Restaurant had limited choices but food was still nice. Would be better if breakfast was included because it wasn't worth $11.95. Overall I would still recommend though.
Super stylish and modern. Love the decor and feel of the hotel.

We stayed here for a wedding recently, and the hotel was really nice. The staff was very friendly. Only issue was a slow/broken elevator, but nothing too terrible. Plus, the free wine in the evening made everything better!

"Keep away from the bar!"
loved the hotel.Lobby,rooms all very modern,boutique style,service fabulous.The bar looked very inviting/bar tender very chatty and helpful but after 4 glasses of wine I checked the bill and it was almost $60! $13 per (average sized ) glass.Almost passed out
It was a pleasant stay and the staff were very gracious and accommodating. The two appetizers were very good but the cheese sampling was over priced for the amt of chees you received. Throughout our 2 night stay, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Guests and staff were very dog friendly at all times.

This hotel is wonderful. The staff is excellant and will go out of their way to help you. We would stay again in a minute. We had our dog with us and that made the stay all the better as the hotel is pet friendly and they mean it. We can not say enough about this hotel and what a great place it is.

On New Years Eve the bartender charged me $12 for a drink that I had been paying $10 for the rest of the week prior. Refered it to hotel management-doubt anything happened since the manager seemed not to believe me.

"loved the decor"
This room looked clean and gorgeous decor. But...got hot and could not turn on any air. Thought $39 is a little hefty for valet, and charged 15 dollars for a glass of wine picked up at the bar. (no room service) We thought it was free because they publicized wine tasting on their website.

The hotel staff was great, there were places to eat nearby and there was a bar/restaurant in the hotel if you didn't want to leave. My husband and I stayed on Christmas night and got a good rate and definitely felt we got good value for the price. Overall a nice place to stay and recommend to others.

"Great Hotel"
This was my second trip to DC and my second stay at this hotel. From the staff to the rooms everything was exceptional. I travel weekly and this is one of my favorite places to stay.

"OK Hotel but lacking customer service."
I stayed here for one night with a friend who was visiting from Ireland. I was really pleased and excited when we first got there because the room was lovely and spacious, and because we got surprise free parking for having a red car! The problems developed later when we came in for the evening, exhausted and wanted to get in bed to watch a movie. First […] I found a millipede in our bathtub that had crawled out of the drain. EW! Then our bed had no fitted sheet, it was just a flat sheet laying on the mattress and it wasn't even tucked in, so the mattress was exposed. I called down and a man came up with more sheets. He left them with us and left. He didn't even fix the sheet. When we went to do it ourselves we saw both of them were flat sheets again. This hotel doesn't have fitted sheets? The sheet came undone multiple times throughout the night and was uncomfortable. Then we settled in to order a movie. It would not let us order a movie. We called down to the front desk and the woman had "no idea" what the problem was. She said she'd try to figure it out and call back. She never called back. That's REALLY unacceptable. So then we decided to watch TV and the menu didn't match any of the channels. So our night was somewhat ruined. No one apologized for this and when we did late check out the next day the guy at the front, I think his name was Jerry, acted as if we were doing him a huge inconvenience despite the fact that we received nothing for our negative experience the night before. He asked me to do a review before I left and I said sure, he said he'd e-mail it to me and then asked if I was going to write anything negative. I told him about the TV and sheets. He never sent the link to do the review...I don't find that particularly classy. So the rooms are nice and that's about it. "Red Surprise Package"
Enjoyed my stay at the Rouge, very red and a bit of fun from some other hotels stayed at on this trip. Good value enjoyed the hot cider in the evening after a day seeing the sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and advice. Will recommend to any friends that are planning to visit Washington DC.

This hotel has a cool vibe about it. The color red is prevalent, the music is very modern, space age-ish. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The beds are not for me though. I had a hard time sleeping through the night because my bed was so hard. On the other hand, my son and husband did not mind the beds.

"The front desk ruined our experience."
The hotel is very nice and in a great location. However, when I walked down to the front desk to get a rather personal product that my wife forgot, I got more than I bargained for. They did not have the product at the desk, so the receptionist said that they would have room service bring it up our room. As I walked away from the desk, the receptionist […] started yelling (loud enough that I could hear it across the lobby) into a radio and relaying exactly what the product was AND our room number and name. After screaming this a couple of times through the radio, she told the room service person to come to the desk wear she again told him the what and where while pointing at me at the elevators. Rouge was located in a central location 10 minutes walk from Du Pont Circle Metro station & 15 minutes walk from the Whitehouse. The rooms very spacious and clean. Great location for sightseeing. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
