Stayed on the way to and back from destination. Staff very nice and rooms clean and quiet.

The breakfast was a good spread of eggs, waffles,sausage, etc. The bed was super comfy and the floors clean. The alarm clock had cool settings like ocean, birds, cricket, etc to wake up to.The only problem we encountered was that the address supplied by hotels.com didn't work on our gps(led us to a dead end) so we called the hotel to find out another […] address. The address given really confuses most GPS's and takes you to "The Soda Fountain" but if you don't take that left onto Tigue, but instead go straight, you will see it on the right after the bridge. The place is old and smelled like cigarrettes in our non-smoking room. Needs some renovationg. Like the courtyard, pool, hot tub. Parking was a bit of aproblem because of 3 major activities going on at the hotel but after a bit of negotiation that was worked out.

Decent hotel. Going to be part of a Best Western chain I think. Staff was courteous and helpful. We stayed in a room that faced outside. Great hotel, friendly staff, great food, very clean. Overall a really nice hotel excellent prices I will be staying there again.

The hotel is conveniently located near highway 81, it is a little dated, the air conditioning unit in our room did not work all that well and was very noisy

The location of this hotel outside Scranton was less than lovely, surrounded as it is by industrial sites (road equipment?) and smack next to the highway. The route TO the hotel/convention center was circuitious, but getting back on is a straight shot. There is nothing to do in the immediate neighborhood - nada. Chlorine in the morning is not my idea of a good start plus the AC units pull in and re-cycle that interior air. We had good stay. Breakfast was great! However the pool was closed for maintenance and we were never informed or we would have chose a different hotel since swimming was what we wanted to do.

Despite the negative reviews, we found the hotel to be very clean, and well-maintained. The buffet breakfast was also very nice. The price we paid made this an excellent value. The kids loved the pool and spa, although the water temp was a little cold. We asked about it and was told that too many complaints that the temp was too warm at 84 degrees, […] so they keep it at 82. Too bad. Kids were too cold. The pool was just repainted and the upkeep is really nice. Would stay there again. Rooms face the pool, but not a big deal. Convenient business center (24 hr) and nice fitness center as well. Wanted to use pool and whirlpool but both were under repair so out of luck. Restaurant and bar are ok, good staff.

My reservation was ready when I arrived and everything was fine nice pool area, clean, quiet. Friendly staff. Would stay again if needed.

The Room was so very clean and the beds so comfortable. I enjoyed the coffee in the lobby and the sssociates at the desk were coutious and helpful. Very easy on and of Route 81.

Pleasantly surprised; was clean,maintained; need a car as nothing is really near to it.

We went for Fourth of July in 2011, and this past weekend for two nights. The hotel staff is very friendly. This second time we were given a room right outside the pool. The room is very modern and clean. On the first night, we returned from dinner at 9:00pm, and the pool was filled with kids (a big group staying together). They were extremely loud, […] and I worried about my 3 year old getting to sleep. We called the front desk, who sent someone to the pool in a matter of minutes. They went right to the children making the noise and told them (sternly, but politely to keep their voices down). Problem solved, the pool was only opened until 10pm, but we barely heard a peep after that. Perhaps with a young one, its best to stay a bit away from the pool. But we loved the convience when enjoying the pool and hot tub. The breakfast is nice, and the woman working there was so sweet. We had a great stay...and our dogs did too....very clean, friendly staff, and great pool/hot tub and bar (entertainment was great). The only thing we could say negative was the shower didnt drain well. We cant wait to come back

Our bill was completely paid prior to check-in. During the check-in process, the hotel desk clerk said that the hotel had to charge our credit card for an additional $50.00 for incidentals - up front! Never heard of this policy! And no receipt was given nor was any signature taken for the credit card charge!

We stayed for two nights with the purpose of going to the St. Pattys day parade in Scranton, PA. The hotel is designed almost to look like the inside of the hotel is the "outside". The pool and jacuzzi are in the center of the hotel and they are very clean. You would think the hotel would smell like chlorine but it does not at all! It would be perfect […] for a family reunion or large groups. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side and it is a bit awkward having your windows face the hallway. It is almost like it is a outdoor corridor hotel but on the inside. However you can just keep curtains closed for privacy. The staff were friendly and able to meet any requests. There are fridges in the room and vending machines throughout the hotel. The hotel is a bit far from Scranton but we knew that when we booked it. During a non-peak time you shouldn't have any trouble getting a cab to Scranton. It is just a 10 minute ride. If you need to stay in the Scranton area but don't desire immediate access to the downtown area I highly recommend this hotel. もっと読む

Scranton East Hotel and Convention Center offered us a clean room... helpful staff... and an overall enjoyable experience... The breakfast in the morning was a nice feature... I would have liked the pool hours to be longer with being able to swim in the early morning.

Despite a short stay, arriving after 2am, we were pleasantly surprised. This is FIRST time I've stayed @ a hotel that really had a flat screen TV, and I've stayed @ four & five-star hotels. The beds were comfy and clean, they even felt clean. For a smoking rooms it didn't stink of smoke, which was nice. I would definitely stay again.

Party's every night they booked a wedding untill 11 pm Leroy us up all night 140 am hit woken up to. Wedding. Gusts fighting and cops being called no room service. Even after requesting phone in room don't work. Wifi don't work unless u are into of window or out side room bathroom door has not been cleaned in months. The East Scranton Hotel was a great value for the money. The way all the rooms look out onto the beautiful lobby was pretty cool. I enjoyed the pool and the great breakfast (make-your-own waffles was cool). It was a very easy on-off of route 84 and close to other major highways. The whole layout was impressive. basic hotel for the price. Nice pool and hottub but everything smells like chlorine. Beds were comfy and clean, room decor needs updating. Breakfast was basic fare. Hotel was crowded and it seemed kitchen staff was overwhelmed trying to keep up with buffet items. Convienent to University of Scranton and surrounding areas. Basic hotel for the price

We stayed here due to closeness to Sno Mountain. Room nice and clean. Only odd that window faced interior. Breakfast was adequate. Pool an added plus for the kids, but cold. Overall, worth it for the cost, very reasonable, especially compared to other surrounding hotels.

This hotel was a last minute decision on our way home from Canada. Dreamy comfortable bedding.ample room to spread out. beautiful pool and hot tub although we couldnt stay long enough to try them out. good location!

It was clean, pool was great, hot tub was very nice, the breakfast was more than filling with hot bacon, eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, bagels etc. There is a 'bar' in the hotel, which does allow outsiders in, and there were a few very 'strange' people in the bar one night, but that has nothing to do with the actual hotel. Service […] at the restaraunt was EXTREMELY slow, but I think that was due to a very large party that was being catered to. I highly reccomend that you BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS. there is NOT enough towels to go around, and once you 'give up' your towels to house keeping, its hard to get any towels back, AND there are NO towels down by the pool. They were giving out bath mats, and hand towels until they could wash and dry the 'pool towels' which NEVER appeared the entire length of our stay (4 days/3 nights) I would definitely go back however.. and just bring my own pool towels and quarters for the dryer to dry them when they were wet. もっと読む

The courtesy and attentiveness of the hotel staff left me a feeling of unwelcome, especially at the front desk.

There are 2 drawbacks to this hotel: 1- It is hard to find. The driveway is not marked, the sign not obvious from the street. We drove past, turned around and came back. 2- Bathroom is very small, no waste space in the bedroom. On the up side: Staff is pleasant, helpful, efficient. Rooms are clean, smell fine, beds/pillows comfortable, Wireless/Internet […] in the room problem-free, frig/microwave/TV excellent. Hotel lobby was very upscale. Rooms all face in to a large central space. Room was very comfortable and had a microwave and fridge which I needed. The hotel check-in staff was very accomodating and put me in a room near the door as I requested. It was VERY hard to find the hotel since the address listed was in a vacant lot nearby. Well maintained property with plenty of ammenities to go along with the hotel. Have family in the area and will be staying here again!!

We chose this location as it was relatively close to Elk Mountain where we were skiing. Check in was uneventful although the clerk was obviously stressed. We asked to be moved closer to our friends and he was unable due to the number of guests. No problem. Room was good no problems. Pool and hot tub area was really nice for what we paid. We ordered […] food from the attached restaurant the waitress was completely overwhelme and started by telling us that she hoped we didnt mind waiting 45 minutes for our food because that was how long it would take. Food appeared in less time than that but most was on the cold side because it was a bigger order I imagine. Self serve Breakfast the next morning was above average in our minds.
