worried about my wife smoking outside and criminals. thefts in area are rampant. i will not stay again. no toilet paper, no soap, one towel. no smoke detector. poor hotel owner.

The rooms are nasty!!!!! My bed was being held up with phone books. The mattresses are wore slap out!!! It appeared to me that there is a lot of hooking and partying going on on the weekends. The wifi sucked and half of the tv channels did not work.

I had a nice night even though I was just passing through. It was a last minute reservation and at first I was a little skeptical cause of the sign they had outside but the room was really nice, the front desk was very helpful and insured I had everything I needed. I stay with my family in the hotel. My husband gave 5 Star. Nice place to stay with the price. Can't go bad. We recommend this hotel. It was nice quite I had a microwave and fridge and free internet.

This place has not been well cleaned in quite some time. The windows leading into it were grimy, the front desk was unclean, the elevator was littered with food crumbs, and the room was nasty. The stay was for only one night but very comfortable for the most part. Location of the hotel was great as it was easy to spot from the highway and very close to a shopping center (groceries, ect). No bathmat and oculd not get extra towels... There appears to be a lot of extended stay residence. A little scary when police were onsite.

Got a great rate, but our room in a word, was nasty. Bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. Found used soap and someone's ring left in soap dish.Tub dirty. I booked this place because it was so cheap; but looking back I should have spent an extra 10 bucks to go somewhere else. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy, and there were shady people in the parking lot and walking through the hotel. The hotel's doors are open on all sides, but the front desk isn't really in the front... you have to go out of your […] way to get there. Anybody can wander in without the front desk knowing. The elevator didn't have its inspection notice up, and there was trash in it. There were no signs indicating which rooms were down which corridors, nor were there fire escape plans on the walls. one of the cheapest hotels in an expensive area. perfect for our low budget trip. staff was great. The staff was attentive but it's an older hotel with character, Its nothing like what I expected when i booked it. Great TV. Great wireless internet. Nice bathroom. Free parking. Don't really have much to complain.

If you are there for a nights sleep this place is OK. Close to Hyw

The hotel is really on top of things and know how to get the job done. The only problem we had was we clogged the sink and they sent someone in their right away to fix it. Its really nice to be at a hotel that knows how to take care of their problems right away.

Considering the price of this hotel it was really nice. I was actually shocked that the hotel was so clean and well kept. The staff was nothing but pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect and convenient. I had an over all really nice time.

I had a lovely time at the hotel with my boyfriend. We had a very relaxing a very quite time at the hotel and I plan to visit it again. Even though it is a low budget hotel it has just what I need. And is not at all what I was expecting.

I am a believer that if you pay less you ALWAYs get what you pay for.. Well, Rodeway Inn Birmingham proved me wrong! This hotel was priced right. The room was comfortable and in a good location. Could have been cleaner but no bugs. The wireless internet access was terrible. It only worked for about 30 minutes.

The hotel itself was nothing like the pictures online although the room was comfortable. However, prostitues were arrested the night we were there since they were using the rooms for their 'employment.'

I have to stay in Birmingham a lot cause I'm on call and I always stay at Rodeway Cause its convenient for me and also cause its nice safe and clean. I wouldn't go any where else. Its like a home away from home.

The hotel was disgusting, carpet was extremely dirty. Bathroom towels were so thin you could see through them. There was not a working ice machine in the hotel.

The location is scary..the hotel backdoors are open and can easily get in by anyone ( i thought they were locked). The hotel was really nice for the price that I paid. It was peaceful. And I had a really nice stay.

halls were dirty....room ceiling was falling down.....phone not working (no Jack) .....would NEVER stay again.

i felt dirty all over when i left. it was a good hotel. but it should not be rated a 4. it should be a 3 as compared to the ton of hotel.com hotels i'm staying at recently.

Think back in the day when the rooms actually used a key. Not clean either.

Customer service was terrible. This is an old hotel recently partially refurbished. Advertises a restaurant/bar but it is closed. Pool is drained and filthy. Awful neighborhood.

When I walked in the room I saw the refridgerator door lying on the floor. There was no alarm clock, telephone, or coffee maker in the room. The remote for the TV didn't work. There were only 2 lights working in the room near the bed. There were no lamps near the bed which made it impossible to see anything you were doing at the desk. The room wasn't very clean, we had 1 towel for 2 guests (had to go get another), the smoke detector kept going off...you get the idea. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

This place is very nice, especially for the price...the front desk was very helpful and the rooms are very clean, I will def stay here again, and recommend it others.

I will not stay at that hotel again. I understood that the hotel was under renovation but I did not like the surrounding neighborhood or the hotel clientele.

The pool was not open. It was still warm enough weather but it should be noted somewhere when a pool is not open. That was one reason we picked this hotel. Our towels had holes and were very thin. checked in a 6 pm air was not turned on in hotel it took most of the night to get temp down to 75 . sheets had not been changed hair on sheets very bad smell , i was working a trade show and had to sleep on my table covers. carpet was very dirty bath tub nasty. coffee pot but no coffee. i will pay more next time

It is inexpensive. That said, there are problems. The full breakfast (or any portion thereof ) that is listed on websites does not exist. Noisy neighbors. Elevators that do not work. Air conditioning that is hardly up to the task.

For this price you cannot complain. Ok, the escalator was out of Service, the phone was dead, but these little shortcomings really don't matter when You're on a Budget Trip. Very friendly Staff!

I did not feel at ease at all in this area. I felt that the location was unsafe. The staff was very unprofessional. I know this will sound like I am making this all up but it's all true. We arrived in the room to find NO light bulbs. I go to the phone to call guest services and it doesn't work. So I go retrieve light bulbs from the front desk. Two lamps don't work, so I finally find a floor lamp across the room that does. I get my laptop out to work on some things […] and the internet doesn't work. You are supposed to have free wi-fi with your stay, yeah right. After 30 frustrating minutes of trying to get internet, I gave up. It was getting late so me and my wife decided to watch some tv. Well guess what, all channels were snowy. We moved the tv out of the entertainment center and traced the coaxial wire to the wall. IT was baring live wires. Carefully and twisted here and there and the picture improved a little. Then after watching tv for a while my wife said the horrific words, "What is that?" A gigantic roach was on the ceiling staring at us. It flew across the room and after my wife woke up from fainting we tried to find it. We gave up and went to sleep. Then I got up to get some water. It tasted like sewage. First impression for this hotel, was to walk into lobby to check in - to find a male laying in the floor in the middle of the lobby - watching us. Rep behind counter completley ignored him. No mattress pad, lamps not working, tear in box springs lining, removed tub mat left unsightly, unclean residue, personnel not helpful. Yuck !

Overall appearance was questionable, sheets appeared to be left over from last occupant, mold in tube and well as left over soap scum from previous occupant, pool was empty (July), and advertised free contintental breakfast was non-existant. Would rather have slept in my car!!!!
